Pet care experience
I grew up with German Shepherds, currently have a two year old GSD and have historically been a go to for friends for dog care. I’m a kind and caring dog dad, who loves and cares for all dogs the same as I do my own.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a two year old German Shepherd, Moishe, who is professionally trained, social and very friendly. He loves having guests over, and tailors his socialization to our guests. He can be energetic and playful, but we also have a large house and he can give plenty of space. Our South Philly home is 4 bedrooms, and if we’re dog sitting, your pup is welcome to their own bedroom, a couch in the living room, a crate wherever they might be most comfortable, or welcome to sleep with us in bed. Your dog can have as much or as little personal space as they want! Moishe believes in staying right by my side during the day, but typically sleeps by our front door or on the couch at night. I can / have done most things when it comes to basic dog care - from giving medication, giving affection, and building mutual trust through engaging play. I’m not a dog trainer - but have gone through quite a few rounds of training with my dogs over the years, so I have a good grasp on the basics and am good at reading body language and building rapport with new dog friends.

Information Charlie M. would like to know about your pet
I don’t have any professional dog medical care training, but I’ve seen quite a bit with my own dogs. I have good judgement and common sense when it comes to basic dog needs. I also tend to opt to act with an abundance of caution with other peoples dogs. I’d love to know what your dog’s schedule is like any any special needs, and I’ll do my best to continue or replicate that however I can.
A typical day
My GSD is very active and high energy. We go on short walks about every 2 hours. We have two fenced in, neighbor/friend owned, vacant lots within 2 blocks of us that we frequent for short play breaks for tug of war and fetch. We also love going to the Columbus Square Dog Park and Wharton Square Park at least 1-2 times per day for longer play breaks. On weekends or free weekday evenings we’ll go to my parents in the burbs to run around in a huge, fenced in yard. They do not have pets, but my dog is like their own… and they love when we bring +1 pups.

Availability
I work full time, mostly from home. My schedule is generally 8am-5pm. I take a quite a few walking breaks during the work day, but can only walk clients who live close to me in Point Breeze if during the work day. I’m near 17th and Wharton. I’m not full time Rover - but would love to help you occasionally with the same quality of care you’d expect from any professional service. I have much more flexibility in scheduling on weekends or after work. I do travel for work sometimes - and would be unavailable a few days per month. It is mostly for that reason and my regular schedule during the week that I’m not a good last minute or regular/everyday Rover.
