My family always had a dog or two while I was growing up, so I have always spent time with dogs in my home. I love to take dogs for walks. Being a student at Vanderbilt, I do not have a dog, so I would like the opportunity to get paid to walk dogs and play with them. I successfully raised 4 service dogs for Canine Companions for Independence in high school. This involved raising the dogs from 8 weeks old to 2 years. Besides typical care of a puppy, tasks included teaching the puppies basic commands as well as familiarizing them with public places like restaurants, malls, schools and airports. As a student, I have a very flexible schedule every day of the week.
