Pet care experience
Since I can remember, I have always been an animal fanatic and owned pets, anything from hamsters and rabbits, to dogs, cats, and even livestock and horses. I grew up caring for these animals, so those compassionate values and a strong work ethic were instilled at a very young age. This passion never wavered, and I went on to graduate with my Bachelor's degree in Science, majoring in Zoology. From there, I worked as a zookeeper for 4 years, overseeing the daily husbandry of lions, tigers, and yep, you guessed it, bears! Not to mention elephants, rhinos, and giraffes too! In 2015, I decided to make a career change and began working at non-profit animal welfare organization within their animal behavior department, where our focus was on behavioral rehabilitation for abused, neglected, and severely under-socialized dogs and cats, giving them the second chances they so desperately deserved. I went on to manage this same department, as well as become a certified professional dog trainer (CPDT-KA). From this, I gained extensive knowledge and skills related to animal behavior, including non-aversive/fear free management, modification, and training, as well as expanded on my medical familiarity and awareness. It is this collective experience, that I would utilize in providing care for your furry loved ones, ensuring their whole health, physical and mental, are being met to the highest degree.

Charlie was awesome - prompt, communicative, helpful, and is a obviously an animal lover. Thank you Charlie for taking such good care of my kitty. ❤️
Charlie went out of her way to provide wonderful care for my three dogs and cat! I will definitely use her again and would highly recommend her!
Charlie is great! My 3 big dogs are usually obnoxious when they meet a new person. They calmed down quickly and laid down around her while we talked. I knew they were in good hands! She sent me great updates and pics after each visit. I really appreciate the time she spent with them and the time she spent letting me know they were safe and happy.
Charlie is extremely knowledgeable with dog care. My dogs love her. She always sent daily pictures of my dogs and that made me feel better. I highly recommend her.

Safety, trust & environment
I have extensive experience with behaviorally challenged animals, so this area will be my specialty, utilizing my knowledge and skills to meet your pet's needs. I can provide typical care as it relates to feeding, walking, and cleaning up after, as well as medicating. I can also provide a variety of enrichment and/or basic training during my time with your pet.
Information Charlie C. would like to know about your pet
In order to set both your pet and myself up for success during your time away, I ask that any specific issues, medical or behavioral, be communicated openly and clearly, so that I can customize a specific plan, ensuring all needs are being met, keeping safety and quality of care as top priorities. Additionally, I am comfortable and proficient with livestock and farm-type animals, and welcome providing care for them as well.
A typical day
Structured walks that provide exercise, but also sensory enrichment through scents and environmental stimulation. I can also provide unique and species-specific enrichment opportunities, as well as training for basic manners and reactivity. Please ask about these additional services!

I recently moved to the area with my family to pursue new dreams and aspirations. I currently work part-time for a local no-kill animal shelter, so I am looking to bring in extra income from pet sitting. Drop-in visits and dog-walking will be more readily available, with overnights as able, working around other current commitments and responsibilities. I will provide services throughout Hays, Blanco, and Comal counties, but with the main focal area being Wimberley.
