Your furbaby is my furbaby 💖

Pet care experience

My apologies, I am unavailable indefinitely. Hello! I've organized my profile for both dog & cat parents (see 🐕 & 🐈 labels), I'm also experienced with other animals (see "All animal care - 👾🚀"). ----------- ABOUT ME: (feel free to skip to "experience") My name is Charlie~ Fun fact about me: I was named after my parents first dog! Amongst other animals, I've had dogs & cats my entire life. I absolutely love the diversity across life and species; I've spent a great deal of my life educating myself both as a hobby and throughout my education, and biology has always been my favorite. I am a pre-med student at with dual BS degrees in biology & psychology, and with minors in physical anthropology & studio art. I will be graduating from OSU by the end of the summer, but I'll be taking a break before medical school. Although I am a full-time student, my love for animals has drawn me to be a full-time sitter, and I am fully committed as one. However, being a sitter has never felt like work, and I truly enjoy what I do. I've always been a homebody and tend to keep myself busy at home. I love to paint/draw and read/write in my free time, and spend my leisure time outdoors and traveling. Shiloh is the first dog I adopted on my own when she was a puppy and she'll be 6 in May. Shiloh has been around other animals throughout her whole life - she loves other animals of all sizes and species, and she's also great with small children and people. Shiloh goes nearly everywhere with me and she's been to 12 states (she's an experienced road tripper). ----------- EXPERIENCE - DOGS 🐕: (cats below) I've watched friends' pets for years and I have experience with watching 4 dogs at a time (two large breed, one medium, and one small). I grew up with large breed dogs - I'm very experienced with high and low energy animals. I have experience with timid/shy and aggressive dogs, including dogs with only food aggression. I know how to recognize playfulness vs. aggressiveness. I've had rescue dogs my entire life and from all different backgrounds. I am familiar with dogs from previously troubled homes, dogs with high levels of anxiety, and am very respectful to dogs that need extra time to warm up (especially in unfamiliar territory). I'm also experienced with special needs dogs (e.g., diabetes, post-stroke, epilepsy) and animals that need a little extra care. I am experienced with training and I am willing to work with the same guidelines/routine you might have. I have worked with many puppies on potty training and Shiloh has been a great help on building routine for young dogs, and she is trained to let me know when other dogs need to go outside. For puppies still being potty trained and senior dogs with trouble holding, I accept all and will make accommodations to ensure they receive the same amount of love and care as my dog, Shiloh. (See further accommodations details in "*What I can offer - 🐕") ----------- EXPERIENCE - CATS 🐈: (more 🐈 details below) I grew up with dogs & cats together, and am very familiar with dog/cat relationships. I've kept Shiloh exposed/social with cats since she was a puppy; she's very respectful to space and boundaries, and very calm temperament around smaller animals. I've fostered abandoned kittens and experience with post-surgery care (e.g., drain tubes, stitches, etc.). I have experience with high- and low- energy cats, young & old, special needs, and various personalities (e.g., friendly, aggressive, timid, high anxiety, etc.). (*See more in "**Schedule - cats" and "**What I can offer - cats") ----------- ALL ANIMAL CARE - 👾🚀: While I primarily grew up with cats/dogs, I've also had other animals or care experience with them - including: insects/bugs/arachnids (butterflies, tarantula, & scorpions), rodents (hamsters, guinea pigs, mice, & rats), birds, hedgehogs, fish, farm animals (horses, cows, pigs, & chickens), foxes, reptiles (snakes, turtles, iguana, & lizards), amphibians (frogs/toads primarily & axolotl), etc. Within the Rover guidelines, I'm happy to watch any baby within my abilities to provide them the level of care that they require. I will need the basic care information I've laid out for 🐕 & 🐈 below, and additional information pertaining to your baby's specific care needs/instructions. *NOTE: I only accept other animals that I can safely provide the level of attention/care needed, and this is determined case-by-case. -----------

This was my first time leaving Theo with a sitter and I am thrilled that we stumbled upon Charlie! She was in communication multiple times throughout the day to send updates and was very responsive. Theo loved playing with her dog Shiloh in their backyard. We will definitely consider Charlie in the future!

Our sweet corgi pup Olivia had a blast with Charlie! She had plenty of friends to tumble and play with (and wear her out, haha) and Charlie was so good with meeting her needs. I appreciated the spacious yard to run around and the daily recap/many video updates!

Overall Charlie was great! Very responsive, and provided a detailed list of activities that my pup did. A great experience overall, though Charlie does book several other dogs, which her profile says she doesn’t.

*WHAT I CAN OFFER - dogs 🐕: - feeding plan (regular and special needs) - administer owner provided medication for dogs with health conditions, including oral and shots (I'm familiar with diabetic dogs and diabetes) - treats or owner provided treats - bathing and brushing *cost includes grooming products for sensitive/dry skin (shampoo & conditioner) and brushing/de-shedding before pickup. - multiple potty breaks + exercise (I have a fully fenced backyard that I recently reinforced) - tons of dog toys for your baby to play with - I am happy to send you pictures/updates while you're away from your baby. - Your dog will not be forced into affection, only offered and invited - willing to work with you if there's additional needs or requests within my abilities -*accommodate puppies & senior dogs that are accident prone. The main floor of my house is tile, so messes are easy clean up/no concern for damage, and potty pads on-hand to better isolate accidents. I am happy to sleep in my spare bedroom on the main floor with the door open to reduce accident messes during bedtime hours, and the carpet is old (don't worry about damage). I also have a sturdy ramp that lines up with the bed downstairs, which will allow your furbaby easy access to sleep on the bed with Shiloh and me, or on a dog bed if they prefer. ADDITIONAL NOTES 🐕: - My dog, Shiloh, lives with me so your dog will be socialized and have a friend to play with - Shiloh is very good with other animals, small children, and adults. She is not aggressive or food aggressive. - Your dog must be friendly with other dogs, but I can work with dogs that are prone to food aggression, and I can separate during feeding times if necessary - Your baby will get the same love and care that I give Shiloh during their stay - All potty & exercise breaks in my backyard are 110% physically monitored/I am always present. - I do have a 30 ft. leash to hookup dogs if there's any concern during outside time and I can run them on a short leash, but my backyard is fully fenced - I am a college student and I go to campus 4 days a week. I'm typically gone less than 4 hours, but I have a camera to check in on both Shiloh and your baby. - I have lots of dog toys in a bin on the main floor, and your baby is free to play with any of them! - I can play comfort music whenever I'm away - My house is dog proofed and they only have access to the main floor when I'm away, so you don't have to worry about them getting into anything if they're chewers or risk of damage if they're accident prone - Your baby does have the option to sleep on my bed with Shiloh and me, or wherever they please ----------- **WHAT I CAN OFFER - CATS 🐈: - While Shiloh is good with cats, not all cats like dogs. I can ensure your cat won't have their space invaded and I can separate Shiloh if I'm not home. - feeding plan (regular and special needs) - I'm familiar with older cats, especially ones requiring a special diet, and well aware that their dietary needs are different compared to dogs - administer owner provided medication for cats with health conditions, including oral and shots - treats or owner provided treats - some toys, please bring any others you know your cat enjoys - I am happy to send you pictures/updates while you're away from your baby - I can provide easy access to litter box, but I ask that you provide the litter box & litter, and box liner if used (not necessary if not used). This will make adjustment easier for your cat - I will maintain their litter box consistently during their stay and can clean it out on return - willing to work with you if there's additional needs or requests within my abilities **ADDITIONAL NOTES - cats 🐈: Cats can take just as long (if not longer), than dogs to adjust/warm up in new spaces. I've only had rescue cats and I'm well aware of the heightened anxiety that cats experience with moving (even temporarily). Your cat will not be forced into affection, only offered and invited. I'm also aware that cats aren't always good with drinking water (which makes them easily prone to kidney failure), and typically wet food is where cats get most of their fluid intake. I'll be observant and ensure they stay hydrated throughout their stay, and ask that you provide wet food they like and inform me of their drinking habits. I'm happy to accommodate their needs - including leaving out a mug full of water if that's their preference. ----------- ADDITIONAL - TRUST & SAFETY (all animals):🐈🐕👾 I can guarantee a safe and loving environment. However, in any case an emergency does occur that requires immediate attention, I will take your baby to either your vet or an animal hospital, and update you on the way. If your baby does have any health concerns, please provide detailed information on how they should be managed. I am committed to making sure your baby feels safe and loved, especially during stressful times when they are away from you. I also know how hard it is for you to be away from your baby and I am happy to do what I can to reduce both your worries. All babies that come to stay will be loved and cared for as if they were my own - a home away from home. Your baby will not be forced in any way including (but not limited to) affection/attention (e.g., physical contact), socialization with strangers beyond the scope of interaction with Shiloh and myself within my home, socialization outside of my home (if applicable), bathing/grooming that is beyond the level of common anxiety that I deem not safe for either your baby or myself (normal anxiety is fine - Shiloh hates baths), etc. I'm flexible and accommodating; my goal is to ensure your baby is safe, comfortable, and given the same amount of love they desire under my care. Please share any questions/concerns, care information, and anything and everything you would like me to know so I may care for your baby in a way that best suits them. *During warmer seasons I do board multiple dogs at a time; however, I am considerate and exclusive in how I group dogs (i.e., similar age, energy level, personalities). I do believe its good to keep dogs socialized; I ensure a fun and relaxed environment, and your babies will come home happy and worn out. 😊 My backyard has been updated (pictures coming soon) with a two door entry and separate fenced areas, and we get lots of exercise when it's nice out (anywhere from 3 to 5 hours). Regarldess, all dogs must be friendly with other dogs because my dog is always present. Please be mindful on booking. Lastly, all introductions are done outside whether it's a simple meet & greet or drop-off to allow the dogs an open, neutral space to get to know each other. -----------

SCHEDULE: (general & dogs 🐕) - I wake up at 5:30-6:00 am everyday, I take Shiloh out either for a quick potty break or 15-30 minutes, and feed her breakfast. - I'm very much a homebody, and I'm home roughly 80-95% of time during any given week. - I am a full-time student, but being a sitter is my full-time job, and caring for your furbaby is my top priority! Considerably, I am graduating this summer, but I'm not required to be on campus since all my courses are online, and I'm home roughly 85-90% of the week. - I'm very much a homebody; although, I might step out for a short time, and I avoid being gone over 4-hours. - I take Shiloh outside at around 10-15 minutes before leaving, and we go out the moment I get home for 10-30 minutes. - I sometimes take Shiloh to the dog park or hiking when the weather is nicer. - I feed Shiloh dinner around 6:00 pm and take her outside after to play - I go to bed by 10:00 pm and take Shiloh out a couple time for quick potty breaks before bedtime. Shiloh goes outside an average of 5-7 times a day, depending on the day, and at least two of those times are 15-30 minutes. - Times that Shiloh goes outside do vary depending on the day/weather, but she is trained to tell me when she needs to go outside and she will tell me when another dog needs to go outside. - I make sure Shiloh has at least 1-hour cumulative of exercise, and typically base our outings on when she slows down/gets tired. ----------- **SCHEDULE - cats 🐈: I wake up at 5:30 - 6:00 am everyday, I'm on campus about 4-hours or less, 4-days a week (M-Thurs). Providing care to your furbaby will be accommodated into my morning routine that I have with Shiloh including breakfast (if applicable), I will be ensuring your baby has intook some form of hydration (see more in "**Additional Notes - cats"), checking litter box, and stimulating your cat for a few with toys before leaving. I get up early to have a flexible morning, and I'd love to add playtime with your baby. -----------
