I’ve always had a family dog around and a real love of animals that’s just grown as I’ve gotten older. I own guinea pigs at the moment so can’t keep dogs in my home but I miss having that interaction and would love to offer my services to people who need a little help with their pets. I work from home as an accountant so I’m happy to do dog walks and drop ins during the day or evening. I work 8-4 so can always do the lunchtime or evening walk for people who get home late. Pet sitting, as long as it’s in the owner’s own home is fine too. As for my experience with animals, I’ve completed a short work placement at an animal rescue shelter and continue to volunteer there on Saturday mornings and it’s the absolute highlight of my week (though this is temporarily on hold due to COVID-19). I also used to walk a few of my neighbour’s dogs when I lived in Crystal Palace (I’m now living in Beckenham) and was even entrusted with a set of house keys by one couple. I feel I’m trustworthy, reliable and have a real connection to animals. I understand how difficult it is to trust people with your pets so I’m happy to do whatever is needed to make sure both dog and owner feel comfortable with the situation.
