Pet care experience

I have spent my life in the caregiving & customer service industries. I have cared for humans, animals, and plants...and they have cared for me! While I have spent more time managing care for humans, I am trying to break into pet sitting. I have cared for birds, lizards, and snakes. I have successfully performed one weekend-long in-home paid dog sitting gig for an elderly English Bulldog with special needs eye-care. I have also undertaken a week-long sleep-over paid house sitting gig consisting of caring for 2 shy cats, indoor plants, landscaping, and an outdoor bird feeder & birdbath. Mail and garbage were also my responsibility. I have 3 cats myself named Leo, Luna, and Miss Magic. I have cared for a TNR feral cat colony in the alley behind my apartment building since 2015. In recent months, I have provided pet sitting for my neighbors free of charge. I provide care for an aloof outdoor cat that lives at our building. My neighbors dogs love me and, sometimes, animals cross my path who are in need. I have taken responsibility for 4 stray animals: domesticated peachy faced lovebird (flying around my parking spot), pit bull puppy (tossed over my fence), a small dog (wandering the street), and an abandoned young cat (Circle K). I also had a next door neighbor hand me her dog and asked me to find it a good home before walking away from a domestic violence situation. I found these vulnerable animals trustworthy rescue organizations and each now has a furrever home.

I highly recommend Charley, for anyone looking to have their fur babies cared for while you're away or at work. I reached out to her very last minute to watch my 2 dogs over the weekend, as my previous sitter fell through. She was professional and provided daily updates, which definitely put me at ease. Knowing my fur babies were safe and in good hands. 1 of my dogs is very anxious and timid of people, but has warmed up to Charley. I absolutely would recommend booking her! I definitely would not hesitate asking her to care for my dogs in the near future. Thank you Charley! Because of you I was able to enjoy my weekend, knowing you were the perfect choice.

Charley does an amazing job walking and taking care of Bear, our golden doddle! It’s not an easy task since Bear jumps and licks most people. We are so happy to have found Charley to help us with his energy. Marcella H.

Charley and I met in 2020 when we became neighbors. She has been a joy and is a real gem in the neighborhood. Charley organizes campfires and barbecues for our building and is really great with everyone's pets. (She's also the property supervisor.) I have seen her interact with other dogs in our neighborhood on their daily walks. They like Charley, too, because she gives them giant dog treats. My cats, Berman & Marcel, recently met her and were not at all scared. Normally, they freak out when meeting new people. Charley genuinely likes animals and is a really cool chick to know. (I'm glad we met!) I very super totally recommend her for dog walking, pet sitting, and house sitting because she is personable, responsible, and ethical. Should you have any questions feel free to call me at 480-376-9887 or email at sophia.sanchez31@gmail.com. I am available via phone Mon-Fri 5pm-10pm and email any time.

Hi there! I am so excited about this opportunity for my niece, Charley! I have watched her rescue, care for, and love on animals for decades! She LOVES animals! She cared for her beautiful cat, Boukie, while she lived here in Louisiana, and rescued a cat after Hurricane Katrina, giving it a safe forever home with her!! She fed, walked and cared for her granddad's dogs Sparky and Jesse, and her mother's dogs Bucky and Boy. She even reached out to a neighbor, loving on and caring for her dog, Chocolate. When a squirrel became tame enough to enter her home and take crackers and cookies, Charley was faithful in watching after this squirrel named Trouble. After moving to Phoenix, Charley has continued to rescue cats, and she sends me pictures of the beautiful cats who allow HER to live with THEM in their apartment. ;-) She works hard and faithfully cares for any animals she owns and other peoples' animals, as well. Charley will be an awesome asset to anyone requiring faithful, caring attention for their dogs. She is an honest, genuine soul. She will be a faithful, trustworthy addition to your team at Rover.

In the client's home, I strictly follow instructions and typically keep notes taped the the kitchen counter. This way, there's really no excuse for "oversights." I behave professionally in the client's home because it's just that: it's the client's home, not my hotel room.

Information Charley C. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know if the fur child has any behavior challenges or weird quirks, such as never touching ears or paws. If the dog obeys commands, I would like to know what they are. (I once had housemate whose dog responded to commands...in Latin!) Naturally, if the dog is special needs, I would like instructions written down and demonstrated to me. Finally, I would like to know your vet's contact information as well as your emergency veterinarian clinic's location, such as Blue Pearl Emergency Hospital. If you are going out of the country, I would like a document with advanced directives for the medical care and a list of human emergency contacts.

A typical day

I have taken dogs on walks, but hesitate to do so in the Phoenix summer heat without paw booties or doing so in the early morning. I am open to bathing dogs in a bathroom tub or outside with a garden hose. I am also open to supervising swimming dogs. I will soon take the online Red Cross Dog & Cat CPR Training certification course.

I have made a career out of the gig job industry. I make my own hours by utilizing the on/off buttons on my driver apps. My routine is organic and unfolds in real time. I set alarms on my phone to keep me on time and on schedule using the Google Calendar app. I have a work phone separate from my personal phone. This reduces distractions.
