Hi! We're Jayne and Charles. We have a combined 20+ years of experience caring for dogs, and 30+ caring for cats. We'd love to have your furry friends as our guests. We are also now available for local drop-in visits and walks! We live with Mona, a gentle and loving 8-year old Border Collie / Lab mix, and Phoebe, a silly and magical Tortoiseshell cat. They're both incredibly tolerant of other animals. We don't consider them to be "our pets", but rather, animals who share our home. All four members of our family are active and spend lots of time outdoors. We have a large fenced yard and take multiple walks (and longer hikes) every day. We are mindful of the fact that every dog is different -- they come in all shapes, sizes, and temperaments, with or without special needs. Since we don't make any assumptions about your dog, please tell us just what you need and we will cater to that. We want you to feel completely at ease while your dog is staying here. Charles works from home and typically spends a minimum of 2-3 hours a day directly engaged in play with the animals, making sure they are physically, mentally, and emotionally stimulated. Mona goes to the off leash dog park at least 3 times a week, and walks every day. If your dog needs more exercise than that, please let us know! We can accommodate running, walking, outdoor play, long walks, off-leash hikes in nature, games of fetch, tug of war, and so on, up to 4 hours a day. Charles also has 9 years of dog training experience. He uses a calm, positive, firm, respectful, and most importantly, FUN approach.
