Pet care experience
I grew up living with and taking care of multiple dogs. I understand the connection people have with their dogs and I like to treat them as one of the family. I have experience dog sitting for neighbors and friends. I have also volunteered at animal shelters. All my experience with dogs gives me an ability to recognize animal instincts and traits. I have provided care for dogs of all shapes and sizes. Large dogs don’t intimidate me (my parents have an 150 pound Newfoundland). I can provide grooming services such as bathing, fur brushing and nail clipping. Also, I live close to the James River trail system and can provide extensive exploring and exercise for your pup. Your dogs wellbeing is always my number one priority.

We went on a week-long vacation and when we came back our animals were alive so I knew they had been attended to. I usually use the neighborhood kids who are only responsible for the rabbits, guinea pigs, lizards, and tortoise. They feed the animals once a day and change the rabbit litter boxes every 3-4 days. The reason we didn't use them is that we were leaving the dogs home this time. We needed someone to feed the dogs twice a day, possibly walk them, and definitely let them out multiple times a day. When we got home, the rabbit litter boxes had not been changed and the dog's bed of the one who sleeps in the crate was soaking wet. I am not a perfectionist by any means but if I pay you quite a hefty sum more than a 14-year-old, I would expect much more out of you than a 14-year-old. The profile and ratings looked so good that I was impressed the first time but I finally have to say something since I'm back looking again...
Charles and Rachel were amazing. They took care of our baby as if it’s their own and constantly gave us picture/text updates. We picked up a happy pup and we couldn’t ask for more than that.
We are so grateful we found Charles to watch our dog while we were gone for a week. We haven’t left him with anyone new in a long time and I was nervous, but Charles did a great job keeping us updated, and we came back to a very happy dog! I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a dog sitter!
Charles took great care of my dog, Luna for a week! He asked lots of questions about her routine during the initial meet and greet and was very receptive to my (admittedly long!) care notes I left with him. Charles definitely prioritizes keeping your dog as close to their routine as possible, which I really appreciated. He sent photos of Luna throughout the week, and she looked so happy in every one. His home is dog-friendly and she clearly felt right at home as soon as she got inside. Luna is dog-reactive when walking on the leash, but Charles had no issues handling her. I would definitely recommend Charles to any dog owner!
