Hi, my name is Charlene and I'm the epitome of an animal lover. I've been a dog and cat owner for the past 25 years, rescued wild squirrels that were hurt, saved abandoned cats. I feed the wild birds, stop my car when I see a dog out alone along the road, look in on my neighbors pets and bring them over to play in my yard when their folks have a long day at work. My adult son, Nick, shares the home with me, and is an animal lover too. He does professional pet sitting and one of us will always be home and available to care for your pets 24/7. I worked as a professional Doggy Day Care attendant for 2 years, and when it closed I continued on as a pet walker and sitter for some of the dogs. I was like a second mama to the pooches, and was even asked to be godmother to one of them :) Currently, I work part time from home with very flexible hours. I pet sit for my neighbor's animals when she's out of town or has a long day at work. So now, as I find myself considering a way to generate a second income, pet sitting and walking seems like the obvious choice. Our own pets are a wonderful 3 year old Bull Terrier/Lab Mix name Elliot; 3 cats (2 were rescues) 2 parakeets, and a white ring neck dove that was found wandering around a gas station in the pouring rain. Taking care of our beloved friends brings us joy and a daily realization of the simple pleasures in life! In the past, we have done pet sitting for smaller dogs in our home. This worked out well as the cats aren't intimidated by smaller dogs. We have a large, dog friendly, fenced in back yard with shade trees and a good size covered deck. In the nice weather the door to the backyard is left open for the animals to come and go as they please. Currently my neighbors big and small dogs come over to play with Elliot, who is well socialized and loves to play. He's great with all dogs, and careful and considerate with the smaller ones. When your dog stays with us somebody will always be at home. Your dog will have full access to the house, and we will provide whatever sleeping arrangements are most comfortable for him/her. Daily exercise is provided through outside play, and walks can be taken at nearby Powell Butte.
