A Tired Dog Is A Happy Dog!
Pet care experience
**May 24th 2024 will be my last day on Rover through the summer until August. I am available until then, just a heads up! Hello! My name is Chanelle and I am an animal girl through and through. Dogs are my main thing, but I will happily care for any kind of pet in your home. I have experience with horses, cats, rodents, birds, snakes and other exotic pets. I have two human children and 1 dog child at this time 😃 we also have a salt water fish tank! I have a personal interest in dog training as I've trained all my dogs in basic obedience and am currently training in Rally-O. The walks I give will not only be physically tiring but mentally stimulating as well. I always work on engagement first so your dog is in tune with me and then can work on leash skills while simultaneously tiring your dog out (if that's what you want). I am not a dog trainer, just someone who has dog training experience. I find with certain breeds that just physical exercise is not enough. Chanelle was great! We were cancelled on last minute and she responded quickly accepting the same day drop in visit. She got great pics of the dogs with updates, made sure they got water, and they looked like they were having fun!
Chanelle just has a way with all animals! My dog literally squeals when he sees her now. She is such an amazing pet owner, sitter and walker. She has gone through extensive training and obedience courses with pets over the years. I trust her with my pekingese and he truly enjoys his time with her. She texts me updates and always manages to snap adorable pictures. 100% would recommend Chanelle

I have no breed or size restrictions! I will always take the cues from your pets if they are shy, fearful, aggressive etc. While I can't care for any pets in my home at this time, I will gladly provide any care you need in the comfort of your pets home.

Behaviours I would like to know about ahead of time are: leash reactivity (to dogs, people, other animals etc.) lunging and/or barking and/or pulling while on walks. Any aggressiveness, or bite history. I will absolutely still care for your pet if any of those behaviours are displayed. My current dog is very leash reactive and I have gone through a lot of training with him so I understand how frustrating and discouraging these behaviors can be.
A typical day
Engagement is always the first thing I will start with before going on a walk. Just a few minutes of doing this not only mentally engages them but makes them more confident and more in tune with me. For drop in visits, I will play whatever games your dog likes while also working on some basic obedience skills (sit, stay, recall) if that is something you want.

Availability
I'm available Monday - Friday 9am - 2pm. I can be flexible in an urgent situation if you need me outside of those hours. I drive my kids to school everyday, so my schedule is reflected in the Jeff Co school calendar.
