For 14 years, my family and I were blessed with the presence of a beautiful, model White German Shepherd / Labrador Retriever named Daisy (pictured). She projected her boundless warmth, joy and happiness onto us and when she died, a void was created which has taken a few years for all of us to get over. I was responsible for almost single-handedly training her. She was incredibly intelligent, learnt quickly and was joyous company (around both her human pack and other members of her kind!). If treated with sufficient respect, love and attention, dogs are pure endorphin creators, emotional sponges and the purest living vessels for accentuating the best and warmest aspects of humankind (...and of course, perfect company for oodles of silly fun!). There is little more satisfying than experiencing the full breadth of their happiness, kindness and enthusiasm in your life, safe in the knowledge that you have contributed greatly to their existence. As stated before, I have considerable experience in raising, training and maintaining a dog's physical and mental well being and so I would obviously bring all of this to such an endeavour. We would both consider it a wonderful opportunity and privilege to be temporary guardians to a doggy. I work from home as a freelance, commission-based musician, so I am available any day or time of the week. Having the opportunity to spend a good portion of my day entertaining a new little doggy friend would be something quite special. My partner and I live in a flat in Acocks Green, Birmingham B27. We are situated in a good area, directly opposite a park and benefiting from a surrounding area complete with shaded walking trails, large open fields, woods and a canal route, all within short walking distance. I also own a moderately sized allotment patch. It is located very near to our home and its maintenance represents a daily exercise managing its upkeep, watering my crops and performing general site inspections. I'd be privileged to include a doggy companion whilst there. As stated above, I work exclusively from home as a freelance composer / musician. My availability is open all year round and I shall endeavour to be as clear and concise as possible whenever there might come a period when I am otherwise preoccupied. Flexibility is paramount. Our flat has more than enough space inside to accommodate a dog's movement and play patterns during any given day. We have several options for when a dog might seek cooler secluded areas plus large living room for extended bouts of excitable play.
