My rates reflect the fact that in addition to meeting food, bathroom, and exercise requirements I will mindfully interact with your pup. I will act to maintain or improve their training and emotional well-being by creating a consistent and supportive environment for their unique needs. Additionally I only accept 1 pet at a time (with the exception of multiple animals from the same household or animals that already know each other). This is to guarantee that your pet receives the absolute best attention and care I can provide. I am also a vet assistant and very comfortable managing medication, wound care, or rehabilitation etc. If you board your puppy/rescue with me I will pick up your training wherever you left off and you get to pick them up with a few more skills under their belts! Here’s a bit more about me: I enjoy connecting with all shapes, sizes, and personalities of dogs. I am passionate about learning their unique ways of communicating and interacting with fellow canines as well as humans. As a psychology and communication professional this is more than just a hobby for me, this is my passion! My favorite breeds to work with are working breeds - herding dogs of all sorts have a special place in my heart. I have fostered many dogs throughout the years and understand puppy behavior and training as well as rehab and healing for rescues. I am well versed at caring for dogs with medical needs, anxiety, reactivity, and fearful behavior. I love dog training and have studied with several talented dog trainers throughout the years. I believe in training dogs with consistency and positive regard as well as firm boundaries. I am happy to work with building your dogs training in our time together, I can also be hired out for one on one training sessions independently from boarding or dog walks. I am available to train dogs to behave in accordance with AKC standards as well as obedience and socialization and proper behavior in public. I have a great depth of patience and compassion for all animals. If your dog is shy or uncertain in new situations I will go slowly and build trust gradually as he/she gets to know me. In terms of furniture, I allow my dog on the couch or bed with permission, but not of her own accord. I am happy to accommodate whatever you dog is used to in her/his own house. My dog sleeps with me and yours is welcome to as well or I have lots of cozy dog beds and plenty of room for a crate. My pup: Artemis - A shepherd mix who is seven years old. She's adventurous and playful and she knows how to slow down when a dog is unsure or small (her main playmate growing up was my late pomeranian). She loves to play in water and play fetch in the yard as well as adventure off leash. She's protective and will bark at new people (and the mailman) but she has never met a dog she didn't like and is generally very eager and accomodating when meeting new dogs.
