Pet Lover for House Sitting Needs!
Pet care experience
As a long time dog-lover, I grew up with dogs in my close-knit neighborhood with puppy-breeders as well as my own home. After college, I realized I’m definitely more of a “cool aunt” rather than a dog-mom. My recent experience has been with rescued, anxiety-ridden young dogs or senior dogs just recovering from surgery, but I am open to all breeds and ages (pitties count-they’re the sweetest). I live in a great dog-walking neighborhood, close to a dog park, and near the Potomac River and Mount Vernon trail. Even without a yard in my condo, there are plenty of outdoor opportunities. I can pick up or drop off at home or kennel locations as needed. Expect glamour photos of your dog - I cannot be stopped!
Reviews
Our dog LOVES Cecily. She’s super attentive to your dog’s needs, she’s incredibly responsive, and made us feel so comfortable leaving our pup with her.
Cecily was amazing with my elderly Mini Dachshund and sweet but space invading young cat. It was their first time staying with a different pet sitter in many years, and the amazing photos, updates, and videos she sent put my mind at ease about both my babies and home. They both happy when I got home, and were attached to Cecily within minutes of her coming over for a meet and greet. She obviously loves animals and they her! Cecily's thoughtful questions and observations showed that she cared about their wellbeing. I have already booked Cecily for a return stay, and look forward to hopefully many more!
Cecily is amazing! She has bonded with my dog, understands his needs, is responsible and delightful. Highly recommend her!!!
Cecily is very prompt in responding to inquires! She helped me by walking my dog when I was in a pinch. Cecily and I coordinated a video chat to hold introductions. Her questions about greeting and commanding my dog made me feel at ease knowing my dog was in expert hands! Very kind, very reliable - highly recommend!

When I’m in client homes, I work to uphold their pet’s routine as best as possible. As a former Girl Scout, I potentially take the phrase “leave no trace” a little too far as some of my current clients say they can’t even tell I was in their home. Being responsible for taking care of a home is something I take incredibly seriously and will often ask just as many questions about what to do for your house in the event of an emergency as well as for your puppo. In my own home, if a client has time, I prefer to welcome the client and pet into my home together upon first visit to help their pet acclimate to a new location. If a client is willing and has the time, I have a questionnaire to fill out with information about their dog in order to make the stay as easy and painless as possible for the family and dog. Leaving your fur baby with a stranger for any period of time can be nerve-wracking and worrisome, so I want to help all parties involved have the most confidence and ease going into a vacation.
Information Cecily W. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know in advance if your dog has a history of fear/violence/abuse, if they are a rescue, if they have any known triggers, or any known ways of providing comfort or relief.
A typical day
A typical day will start with breakfast or a long walk that mimics the dog’s normal walking distance/time. Depending on the dog’s activity level, we may play games inside or outside. For senior dogs we may do some brushing and sitting down for a nap. Afternoons are for more playing and another walk or excursion to a dog park, followed by the dog’s nightly routine.

Availability
I'm starting a new part-time position in February that keeps me away from home for 5-8 hours of the day, so I no longer offer dog-walking or drop-in visits to new clients. If I don't currently offer what you're looking for, feel free to message me! I've got some wiggle room if I know in advance!
