Pet care experience

I am a passionate, dynamic, reliable and responsible dog handler. I have homed and trained 3 dogs from pup to adult. I have dealt with both passive and dominant personality/behavior styles. I am also a nurse by trade, AKA, a natural care giver, nurturer, with a heightened awareness to needs of animals and people on a holistic level. A dogs quality of life is of my focus and joy; my ability to connect with a dog is unparalleled. Dogs have always been an important part of my life for physical, mental and emotional health and well-being. Near my home is the safe and beautiful Edworthy park where I walk, socialize and create relationships with dogs and their owners. I also often drive to off leash dog parks. I do have a medium sized, 5yr old dog of my own (Aila) who assists me in training, socializing and being a companion for your beloved dog. She has a motherly touch and always eager to play. Aila loves spending her time doing agility training and learning new tricks! Recreational Activities: I volunteer regularly at Pawsitive Match Animal Rescue organization. This allows me to gain ample experience with both rescued dogs and cats who are under stress and transition to their forever home. Weekly I attend agility classes with my dog Aila. This allows us to expand our channels of communication, express Aila's abundance of energy and create a more connected relationship between dog and handler.

Catriona was great with our heeler! He is a really active dog and she was great in making sure he got his daily exercise and sent us pictures as well. She is very knowledgeable about her breeds as she was able to handle all the quirks of a working breed. Will definitely book her again!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Astounding ! Blown away by the knowledge, service, attention, feedback, support, love and care that was provided to my pup 🐶 🎒❤️ I received daily photos with a report card of his activities. I felt confident in leaving my pet in amazing care. We setup an initial meet and greet which was so thoughtful. Through this experience I still got to be apart of my pups day, I could even view him on video. It was recently -40 and I was offered a ride for my pup 🐶❤️✨ Just mind blowing care and service it’s all here! So happy to have found a second home for Duke and all his new friends THANK YOU! 🐶☺️✨

A typical day

Edworthy and Strathcona Park are minutes away from my home and where I walk most often. I am open and willing to come to your neighborhood to explore and connect with your dog in an environment that is familiar to them. Social play dates will occur in my fenced backyard and living room, where your dog will have full access to a wide selection of toys. I play a tough game of tug-of-war! If your dog has to much fun, I will provide a bath. Your dog will go on a minimum of 2 walks per day, even in -20 weather. I am also skilled at teaching dogs commands and obedience, using verbal and none verbal cues and can continue any training you have initiated to support your training goals. Your dog may surprise you with a few new tricks up their tail! House Sitting/ Boarding/ Daycare: - Safety and security for your pet and home. - Maintenance of the home and property (including retrieving mail and taking out garbage) - Minimum 2 walks per day (morning before breakfast and evening before dinner) - Attending medical, physical, mental and emotional needs - Continuation and consistency of care as instructed by the owner (Daily routines and training) - Basic grooming if necessary from having too much fun (ie bathing and nail clipping) - Photo, video and written daily updates via text message, email or other communication platforms of your choosing. - Structured and engaging playtime tapered to the individual pet. (Energy level/ drive/ temperament/ medical and physical limitations) - Peace of mind with an animal First Aide and CPR handler. Experienced with handling a broad range of breeds, temperaments, ages and energy level dogs and cats. - Unlimited amount of affection - Flexible booking arrangements - Discount for long term stays (greater than 1 week) - Best pet care possible and top notch customer service to build a long lasting relationship with my client Training: (My dog training philosophy) -Training is essential for dogs to gain life experience, learn expectations and boundaries. It is necessary to build trust, respect and connection between the dog and owner/handler. It is an opportunity for the owner/handler to establish themselves as the dog’s leader and protector inside and outside of the home. More importantly, it is essential to the dogs happiness and to facilitate clear communication channels between dog and handler.
