Pet care experience
Hello! I have had at least 22 years of pet experience as an adult. That doesn't include my entire childhood where I grew up on a farm surrounded by animals. We currently have a cat named Judy, a dog named Sadie and a goldfish! I have cared for dogs in every stage of life and have taken both of our dogs through basic dog obedience training. Our current dog Sadie, who is a dachshund, we got as a rescue in 2020 and she settled into our household very quickly as she is very friendly and such a cuddler. She does tend to be a little bit reserved around other dogs until she gets a chance to get to know them and then she settles in with them as well.

Cathy is great with my Trixy dog! Trixy is a whippet mix rescue and very aggressive with other animals. I have peace of mind when Cathy comes to care for Trixy, she has always kept Trixy safe and other animals safe from Trixy’s aggression. We have a large, 2 story home with plenty of space for everyone. We live on 10+ acres in the country and, while we do not have a fenced-in area, we have plenty of yard, fields, woods and country roads to sniff and explore! No need to worry about barking or close neighbors here. We do allow our dog on furniture and on the bed. Of course, it also depends on your preferences as well. Our goal is to keep things as consistent as possible for your pup so they feel comfortable and don't get confused. We do usually crate our dog while we are gone to prevent accidents and her getting into things she isn't supposed to and are happy to crate your pup as well for times we are gone or for night time. I currently do not have any extra crates, so one would need to be provided. We were never able to successfully introduce our dog Sadie to our cat Judy. We haven't met a dog she hasn't gotten along with yet, but cats are too much like badgers I guess. So, our cat currently resides in our bedroom safe from harm.

I would like to know what your dogs typical routines are and whether they have any special health care needs. I would also like to know if they have anything that scares them or makes them stressed out or behavioral things I should look for such as digging, chewing, or aggression.
A typical day
We have lots of cozy spots around our home for napping! We have lots of toys and interactive treat puzzles to keep your pup from getting bored. Of course, we have the outdoors to play fetch, go for walks or sniff to our hearts content. Car rides are also fun as long as pet parents approve!

Availability
I am currently not working outside of the home since I need to be flexible enough to help my family when needed so I have plenty of time at home to give your furry friend plenty of play time and attention. This also means plenty of potty breaks! I do occasionally have appointments or errands to run during the day and lots of running around for my daughter's many activities, but I'm usually not gone the entire day. The same goes for the weekends, we may have some things going on, but will also be home plenty as well.
