Pet care experience
Nice to meet you! I have been in the animal care industry for nearly five years, with jobs ranging from veterinary care assistance to large-scale doggy daycare to pet-sitting to professional training. I completed my certification through the Animal Behavior College of California, and am currently working full-time as a canine rehabilitation assistant. With 5 years of work and education in this field, I have become extremely knowledgeable in dog behavior, handling, and breed traits. I have personally both trained and cared for aggressive and reactive dogs, and have even previously created programs to give dogs with specific social needs a safe opportunity to enjoy group play. I pride myself on a positive-reinforcement approach to training as well as general animal care and treasure the relationships I build with each and every one of my clients. I am also more than happy to provide additional training or enrichment services for your pup if interested - oh, and lots and lots of pictures!

Caty is very reliable and trustworthy. She does a fantastic job with our dogs and they are always so excited to see her. She is the best!

I live in a 3-bedroom apartment with two dedicated "dog rooms" for my own basenji as well as our guests. Our complex includes a large fenced dog park which we frequent when stranger dogs are not there. For our dog-friendly guests, they will receive LOTS of playtime with our boy Dandy. I am very accustomed to caring for reactive dogs, so I take great care to ensure that the halls are empty and leashes are secure before taking pups out for potty breaks - I am also extremely familiar with the dreaded approach of off-leash dogs when trying to enjoy a walk, and carry Pet Corrector to ensure your dog's safety.

I would appreciate details about your dog's general behavior and their cat and dog sociability! I prefer to board dogs who are friendly with both, but will occasionally consider otherwise if owner is comfortable with a crate-and-rotate schedule with the other animals in our home. My partner does have dog allergies, so for longer stays, we prefer dogs with minimal-maintenance coats and shedding.
A typical day
I am a huge advocate for breed-specific and general canine enrichment! For our household, and depending on your pup's interests, this may look like "find it" games, snuffle mats, novelty chews, frozen treats, training sessions, puzzles, long line "sniffaris," off-leash time, or sessions with a flirt pole. My basenji is also incredibly playful and loves to be chased and wrestled with - so don't sweat it if your pup is a rough player.

Availability
I currently work full-time as a canine physical therapy assistant. My work hours are 8:30 - 6:30, Monday - Thursday. This means I am available for evening visits all week, and visits all day Friday - Sunday. For pets staying in our home over my working week, my partner is home nearly all day and will be present for potty breaks, playtime, and cuddles!
