Pet care experience
I am a farmer’s daughter and pets have been in my life always. The deaths of my own Australian Shepherd dogs at 16 and 19 left me too sad to own again for a while but I still love all pets and believe exercise and engagement solve health and behaviour problems. Patient and respectful of your rules I am a loving and firm caretaker from Pomerania to Great Dane and in between. I am home most days so there is lots of time to hang out but I love a long walk that includes some hills and a drive to a park (safe in cargo area of SUV) to socialize w other dogs and a few mental exercises to work on recall to make sure they are happy and tired at end of the day!

Our energetic 12wk old puppy, Lucy, had a great first walk with Cathleen. She came home pleasantly tuckered out, which made for a wonderfully quiet evening for her tired puppy-parents. Much appreciated!

I don’t have breed preferences. I need to know diet and exercise preferences and schedules. Are they ok on walks, meeting dogs? How are they with other animals and cats? What tricks can they do ? What frightens them? Sensitivities in food and environment? Do they like car rides? How are they with strangers/men? Have they ever bitten anybody and what were circumstances? Are they good protective? Dominant/alpha behaviour? What do they do when they are scared/worried/unhappy? Physical problems or sensitivities - past injuries?
A typical day
Walks are in the hilly and dog-loving Marda Loop -Bankview area and down through Mount Toyal and along the Elbow Bike paths. We’ll go to off leash areas in Kensington where I know a bunch of dogs and to Shouldice Park for play w dogs and supervised water time for those allowed.
