I am and have always been a dog lover. I've had dogs since I was a small child and couldn't imagine my life without them. I fancied myself becoming a vet when I was younger but didn't have the heart (I have a hard time seeing a dog in pain) or stomach for it. I've had all kinds of dogs from dobermans to labs to dachshunds. I formerly worked in administration at an inpatient rehab facility where we used therapy dogs to help patients feel better. It was amazing to see these patients, some with traumatic brain injuries, come back to life when our doggies came to visit them. We had 3 resident golden retrievers, Jack and Peter were the boys and Brookie, who was a 3 legged puppy, was the little girl. I walked them and brought them to the courtyard for playtime. It was wonderful! Best part of my job!
