Pet care experience
Starting at 14 years old, I would be the go-to neighborhood dog sitter. Whether it was an overnight stay or checking on the pet throughout the day, I have curated relationships with the people and their fur babies. I spent the spring and summer of 2018 socializing, training and grooming a handful of puppies for a private Labrador Retriever breeder. During COVID-19, many families got puppies. I helped several of these households walk, play and train these COVID pups once everything went back to in-person!
Reviews
Catherine was great! She was very good with my dog and I felt great knowing she was there!
Catherine was quick to get back to me when I requested her day of. She asked me great questions and took great care of my babies. Highly recommend!!
Catherine is one of the most caring, responsible and respectful people I know. She has a huge work ethic and goes above and beyond for anyone. She currently has pets and I know them to be super well cared for and loved. She has always loved animals her entire life and is an amazing person and caregiver.
Catherine recently took care of our Chow puppy while we were on a family vacation. Willow was well cared for and we returned home to find her happy and well rested. Catherine was very punctual and great with communication through the entire process.

I have rescued dogs my entire life so understanding the personality of the pooch is very important . All animals are different, and they may have complex histories. The biggest favor you can do for the animal, is to serve them with respect and love. Many people fail to understand that a scared animal can sometimes be a dangerous animal. My goal is to set the boundary that I am there to help that animal in whatever way it needs! I never leave animals unsupervised with toys that may be choking hazards- things like ropes or tennis balls. When walking dogs, I ensure to avoid chemically treated lawns. Before I work with an animal, I like to know if they have a high prey drive, if they like other dogs/kids, as well as overall reactivity. The goal is for both of us to be happy!

It’s extremely important for me to know what the dog’s reactively levels are like. I like to know what their triggers are, what upsets them, and what to avoid at all costs. I want both my experience and the animal’s experience to be a good one!
A typical day
One of my favorite things to do with dogs is “sniff-ari’s”. A “sniff-ari” is a walk where you let the dog lead and let them sniff away. Obviously I am monitoring what they are interested in to ensure it is not people food, trash, dead pests, or other dangerous items. Another super fun thing to do are enrichment puzzles or toys if they are available! If not, the typical fetch, tug, treats and some basic training or running around always does the trick. It really depends on the dog!
