Dogs are better than humans ;)

Pet care experience

We have both grown up with dogs and love having dogs around the house. Catherine’s family dogs are Rhodesian Ridgeback’s and Tom grew up with different dog breeds including Staffordshire Bull Terrier’s, Alsatian’s and rescue dogs. We now have our own dog called Chilli who’s a Eurasier and almost 2 years old. Most of our friends have dogs and we love filling our house with them. We have many years experience looking after friends dogs during the day and over night, including puppies. We have specific experience training and looking after larger breeds, however Chilli is used to having fun with dogs of all sizes. We’ll only ever have a total of 3 dogs in the house at a time (Chilli will be one of them) so we can give your dog the love and attention it deserves. We’re both experienced at training dogs from a young age and will happily stick to any training, routine, crating or activities you like to do with your dog.

It was such a relief to know our puppy was in safe hands with Catherine and Tom. They are obviously experienced and were so tuned in to our dog's needs from the start. We loved that they were focused on her welfare and thought through everything- from playing games to get her to eat her food, to managing her interaction with their own dog. Communication was fantastic. Rowan clearly had a wonderful time and definitely made a new doggy best friend in Chilli! She'll definitely be visiting again 😊

Catherine and Tom were really great with Riley and were kind enough to let us meet up with them before dropping our dog off. They were very accommodating with taking her at short notice, and they took excellent care of Riley. We wouldn't hesitate to leave Riley with them again.

Excellent - I felt really comfortable leaving Loki. He had a great time and he can't wait for another visit! Would definitely recommend.

Amazing dog sitters!! Catherine, Tom and chilli made Essie feel welcome in their home from the minute she walked in. With constant updates with pictures it put our minds at rest knowing that she had settled in. We would definitely recommend and will be using in the future.

We have a fully secure large garden for your dog to stretch its legs, play fetch and run around. Our house is open plan and fully dog proof! We are experienced in using crates for our own dog so are happy if you would like your dog to use a crate during the day. Chilli doesn’t use a crate anymore so we’re also happy for your dog to have free use of the house if they’re happier doing that! We’re more than happy for you to come over and do a meet and greet free of charge before leaving your dog here, as we know leaving your dog can be a scary experience!

We’re more than happy to accommodate any special requests or needs that your dog has. We have experience with giving dogs medicine, and eye drops etc. We’re always on hand for extra cuddles if your dog is having a bad day and have experience with our own dog being on heat so understand changes to personalities when you’re dogs not feeling 100% itself. We have experience with rescue dogs and reactivity and understand the importance of reading body signals to not put your dog in situations they’re not comfortable with. Our dog is crate trained so if you’re dog struggles to settle around other dogs we’re happy to keep our dog separate and have her in the crate to help your dog when it’s time to relax.

A typical day

We love playing fetch and tug in the garden with the dogs as much as we love cuddles on the sofa. Your dog will be treated like one of our own and we’re happy to match their energy levels. Our dog Chilli loves hanging out with other dogs and is a great play mate but is also good at relaxing with other dogs. We have lots of different walks around us and love going for long hikes as well as quick runs in the park depending on the energy levels of your dog. We understand the importance of heat to a dogs energy levels and safety and will never take a dog out when it’s too hot to do so. We have fans and cooling mats in the house for those hot days. Our house is set up so your dog will be able to go in the garden as much or as little as they want and we’ll always have fresh water available.

We both work from home so have lots of time to dedicate to looking after your dog. We take our dog (Chilli) on two 45 min walks a day in the morning and evening and are happy to take your dog with us and extend the walking time if you’d like. We’re also happy to do an additional lunchtime walk with just your dog if the weather isn’t too hot. We’re happy to take regular breaks from work to play with your dog, and as there’s 2 of us we can alternate this. We have lots of great walking options around us including shady woodland, open park land and water for dogs that love getting wet! We’ll happily mix up the type of walk to suit your dog.
