Pet care experience
I've had dogs, cats and horses my entire life. For years family, friends and neighbors have relied on me to care for their pets, from guinea pigs to horses. I have a solid foundation of animals' behavior and needs. I am very attentive, whether it be eating / drinking habits, detecting anxiety and other changed behavior, or medical issues. I am aware of pets' comfort levels in various weather conditions (overheating, hot pavement, freezing temperatures). I'm physically active, so I'm flexible in how you'd like your pet exercised (fast-paced or slow-paced hiking, almost anything to keep them entertained and tired! We've got two Australian Shepherds, so I understand the importance of energy expenditure! I am also familiar with older dogs, puppies and rescues and will care for them accordingly, based on your wishes. We raised and showed Quarter Horses for over 20 years, so I am very comfortable with them and also attentive to their needs.

Cate was fantastic with our dog Lily. She took her on walks in the neighborhood and managed Lily when she got reactive on her leash. She fed her for us and made sure she had everything she needed. She gave us updates after each walk and asked questions as needed. We will keep using Cate as needed and highly recommend her!

A typical day
I will accommodate most activities in your pet's routine. Hiking, frisbee/ball (if in an enclosed area), high- or low-paced walks. I will make their walks/exercise as routine and fun as possible.

Availability
I am generally flexible throughout the week, however, I would prefer a 1-hour drop-in window (eg. in the rare instance, if you want them attended to at noon, my window could be between 11 am and 1 pm - but I will typically arrive by noon). If you need to cancel, I would appreciate a 24-hour notice; but do understand if emergencies come up.
