Pet care experience
I have over 8 years combined experience working in veterinary and animal shelter settings, including supervision of a large adoptions program and teaching humane education programs for kiddos. I've had animals of my own all my life, mainly dogs and rabbits, but have also worked with cats and birds. While I am no dog trainer, I am a reliable handler with strong background in dog behavior/body language, and have a special touch putting shy, nervous, and cranky animals at ease. I also have a special affinity for seniors. High level of comfort giving medication and bathing. During my spare time, I volunteer as a Foster Mentor at a local humane society!
Reviews
Yet another amazing week with Catherine. She took our Georgie on his walks as scheduled. Her pictures of our pup are worth a thousand words. #mydogwassmiling I highly recommend Catherine!
Catherine was great! She was communicative and caring. I will definitely call on her again!
So patient and understanding!! Emmi can be a challenge but Catherine was very understanding and made a friend out of her quickly!!
Cat has been my first choice in puppy care for a while. With Cat, you get someone who has worked with animals in various professional capacities for years. My dog has some special needs, so I won't trust him just anybody. When we met Cat, she asked all the right questions from the get go, which not only put me at ease but also helped me learn a lot. Cat also seems to have a natural touch with animals which shines through when I see her with my furball - he absolutely adores her! I have full confidence in her ability to handle any animal and can't recommend her enough if your pet is in need of care. Also, if you're lucky you'll meet her dog and bunny - they're an uber cute duo whom my dog and I love seeing.

Safety, trust & environment
I have two pets of my own, a small three-legged terrier named Tess and a rabbit named Bibi. Bibi has her own room in case any of my boarders or daycare stays have prey drive (totally natural), so as long as your dog can coexist peacefully with a canine pal, we are totally good to go. I have a small, gated backyard but rely primarily on leashed walks/hikes to provide exercise and potty opportunities. I'm also happy to accept dog walking/drop-in gigs for dogs that are reactive to other animals and need 1:1 attention. No breed restrictions #dontbullymybreed
Information Catherine C. would like to know about your pet
I need to know if you dog has any allergies or medical conditions, dietary restrictions, and/or behavioral quirks (e.g. leash reactivity, poor recall, prey drive, scared of bikes, etc) so I can keep them and others safe and comfortable. It is also helpful for me to know what command and praise words/phrases you use and what routine and settings your dog is accustomed to. I am comfortable working with "imperfect" dogs as long as I am well-informed about their personalities and needs!
A typical day
I can provide mellow or vigorous walks, depending on your pet's energy levels and stamina, as well as playtime at home (as a terrier mom, I'm a tug-of-war champ, and I love playing fetch almost as much as dogs do) or just affectionate company. Local walks I'm fond of include Fort Ord, Toro Park, the Carmel Mission trail, Garland Ranch, etc.

Availability
My availability is unlimited this summer since I am in between semesters of a graduate program. I hope to help vacationing pet owners rest easy knowing their pet is enjoying the attentions of an experienced and loving caretaker. At this time, I am available for both recurring services and one-off's.
