Flexible, fun care for every pup!

Pet care experience

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ February is Special! All boarding stays booked before the end of this month are 20% off my regular rate! (Rate card has been updated to reflect discounted rates). ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ Hi! My name is Catherine, and my motto is fun, flexible care for every pup! I offer care that's optimized to meet your needs, with the opportunity to "ok" (or, "no way") details before you confirm your booking. SERVICES I OFFER: Petsitting services include overnight boarding in my home, at-home sitting in yours, or a.m. and p.m. drop-in visits (primary service area includes: Gresham, Troutdale, Boring, Sandy, and east Portland. Services outside this area may incur a mileage charge). When boarding, I take your pup's personality and energy level into account to develop a care plan that works for you and your pet. Typically, pups who board in my home are free to socialize and play with my dog during the day, with a seperate room or kennel available if they prefer to retreat for quiet time. However, I can make custom arrangements for anxious or sensitive dogs, such as a seperate closed-door or gated room - please contact me to discuss your needs. Kitties are welcome and have their own space, so they don't have to mingle with the pups. Travelling services are similar to boarding, but scheduled as 12-hour overnight shifts in your home or as a.m./p.m. drop-in visits. During home visits, I can also help out with plant-watering, mail collection, patio lights, and any other common housesitting tasks. I have experience with older dogs, anxious and reactive dogs, puppies, cats, bunnies, small birds, freshwater fish, and chickens! Please note: I cannot board female pups age 6 months or older unless spayed, but I'm happy to watch unspayed females at your home. I prefer to board pets from one family at a time. Stays that overlap by more than 4 hours will be accepted only with permission from both owners. Stays that overlap by more than a day require permission from both owners and a joint meet-and-greet. Unless otherwise indicated, I am available full-time on weekends and holidays *only.* Pets boarded on these dates will not be unaccompanied for more than 4 hours per 24-hour period. For extended stays, pets may be unaccompanied for up to 10 hours per 24 hour period during the standard work week. RATES: Boarding: Published rates are per pup, per day. Pets may be unattended for not more than four hours on weekends and federal holidays, ten hours on standard work days. Pets may have access to the main living area, be provided a private room or gated area, or be crated when unattended, according to our care plan - however, expanded access may require a trial stay or temperament testing before it can be offered. First-time boarding clients are encouraged to start care on a weekend or schedule a trial stay so I can better assess your dog's supervision needs before booking mid-week dates. Housesitting and drop-ins: My published rate is a flat rate for time and travel in my primary coverage area, and includes care for up to three domestic pets (dogs and cats). If you have more animals requiring care and/or non-traditional pets, please contact me for a custom quote. Add-ons: * Extra walks (30 minutes, on-leash): $10 per dog, or $15 for a combined walk (with 2 related dogs, only). * Baths: $25 for boarders, $35 at your home. PUPPY POLICY: For puppies 6 months or younger: To ensure your puppy's health and safety during this important developmental stage, a "puppy premium" will apply - boarding clients will be billed at twice the usual rate to allow for additional enrichment time, more frequent potty breaks, extra clean-up, etc. Homesitting visits will be extended from 12 to 24 hours, and a 50% surcharge is added. For puppies age 6-12 months: Puppies mature at different rates. Once your pup successfully demonstrates good manners, bathroom habits, and minimal "puppy-biting" (or chewing/teething) during a stay, I waive the "puppy premium" for future care. FAMILY "PACK" DISCOUNT: The more, the merrier! Board two pets with me, and your third pet boards free! EXTENDED STAY DISCOUNT: I offer an extended stay discount of $5 per night, per pet, for boarding and in-home stays of 10 days or longer.. PUBLIC SERVICE DISCOUNT: I offer discounted extended-care rates for boarding stays of 7 days or longer for "public service" travel. This includes travel related to military training and deployments, emergency management, wildland firefighting and similar work. Also included: Mission trips, volunteer (and volun-tourism) opportunites, humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, on-call medical staffing, education or research-related travel (such as field work), and military mid-tour and post-deployment leave. To request a discount - message me before confirming your booking request to receive an updated quote.

Great! Very professional and so sweet. Made it easy for us especially with pick up and drop off times. Received a picture or video every day which eased our nerves as first time leaving Theo with someone else. Her dog Rocket is very social and made Theo feel right at home.

Catherine is an EXCELLENT dog sitter. She was very flexible with our schedule and never made me feel bad about our changing plans. I felt very comfortable leaving Riggs with her and she was sure to communicate with me multiple times throughout his stay, reassuring me and sending me lots of pictures! When we got home and unpacked his bag, we found a dog toy with a thank you note to Riggs which was so thoughtful and special. Overall, I would definitely recommend Catherine to watch your pup, she is thoughtful, trustworthy, has great communication and really puts your dog first!

Catherine is my neighbor. Getting to know her has been such a joy. Her heart for her fur-babies is tangible. She is trustworthy, kind and reliable! You will not be sorry if you trust your fur-babies to her!

Information Catherine C. would like to know about your pet

My focus is on providing quality, family-style in-home boarding at affordable rates. I interview owners carefully re: your pet's behavioral history, medical needs, and socialization/play preferences, and I work with you to produce a customized care plan. Meet-and-greets are an essential part of this process! If I am unable to meet your pup before their stay, a "virtual" telephone meet and greet and modified care plan will be required. I have a special place in my heart for "snow dogs" (Husky, Malamute, Samoyed) and Asian Spitz breeds (Chow Chow, Akita, Kai Ken, Shiba Inu, etc.). There is also a special place in my home for high-energy dogs who can keep up with my husky during a full day of play! But we call Rocket our "social director" for a reason - as much as he loves to run with other big dogs, but is patient and gentle with even the littlest pups (don't let his size fool you, he's a puppy at heart! And a total softy, too). For boarders - I prefer to provide my own kennels, beds, food dishes and toys for guest pets. This is to reduce the risk of loss or damage to your items. However, if your pup has a favorite dog bed, toy, or other item that will help make him or her feel more secure during the stay, we'll work out how to ensure only your dog has access to those items as part of the care plan. Three items pet parents *must* bring to all boarding appointments, or have available and accessible during homesitting stays: sufficient food (and feeding instructions), a 6' standard (non-retractable) leash, and a favorite "treat" (to be used for rewarding good behavior). Whether you just need a sitter for a weekend away or are seeking recurring or long-term pet care, my committment to you is honesty, clear communication, 100% transparency and the best possible standard of service to you and your pets!

A typical day

On weekdays, we have scheduled morning and evening outside time, plus opportunities to romp with my dog (if boarding), cuddle and snuggle or groom, and play fetch or tug of war. On weekends, we often visit the dog park (with owner permission). We can add 30 minute daily or twice daily walks for an additional fee. Want to come home to a squeaky-clean pooch? Let's schedule a bath for before your return!
