Cat Lover, Dog Mother

Pet care experience

To this day any Sarah McLachlan song makes me cry thinking of the ASPCA commercials. I have had pets since before I could walk and not a day goes by that I don't pour all of my love out onto my own pup. Let me help you with yours when you need it! Being a single dog mom I know how hard it is to find "someone" when you just have to work late, or cant get home at lunch or really want to go on that group vacation but can't bring your fur baby.

Catherine is great. My dog Jax looked very happy going for his walk with Catherine. Would definitely recommend!

Catherine is a dream come true. She took wonderful care of my precious babies. She and my dog, Iris, went on many adventures during the week they spent together. They went for hikes in the mountains, visited many parks and played at dog parks. She sent me daily photos of Iris having a fantastic time. She even got my lazy cat, Smudge to play and cuddle. She was loving and caring toward my pets and went out of her way to keep me informed of their daily progress. I happily recommend Catherine.

Catherine recently watched over our entire zoo while we were out of town, and she did an absolutely amazing job! We have three cats, two large dogs, and a good sized flock of chickens. She also kept an eye on our house and property, and treated it as her own, with care and respect. From the moment she met our pets, she had a connection with them that we have never seen with previous pet sitters. Our female dog Ruby, who doesn't really like anyone but us, instantly bonded with her. Even our fussiest, untrusting cat Muffin crawled up on her lap after a few visits, which is truly something special (it took YEARS before she would climb onto my wife's lap!). Our pets sensed from the very first meeting that Catherine was a kind, caring friend. Our biggest challenge in finding a pet sitter is that we have to large diabetic dogs, which require insulin injections and carefully monitored dietary needs on a very firm schedule. This scared away most of the sitters we approached before Catherine, but not her. She had some prior experience with injections, but never before had cared for diabetic pets. She jumped right in and followed our directions precisely on how to do everything, asked great questions, researched proper diabetic pet care on her own time, and even offered to come back for a final visit before we left to make sure we were comfortable with her administering the insulin injections properly. She took the added responsibility seriously, and made sure we did not have any doubts or worries when we were far from home. She went the extra mile to check in with us regularly to let us know how the dogs were doing, and even sent us pictures of their time together. We could not have been more pleased! I also appreciate that Catherine communicated very well with us both before and during the stay. If she had questions, she asked immediately. If there was anything I was unclear about in my pages-long laundry list of instructions for the house and pets, she asked for clarification. She made it a priority to make our sure our pets were comfortable by having the same daily routines in place while we were away. I'm pretty sure the cats didn't even notice we were gone. The chickens were another obstacle in finding a sitter, but Catherine had grown up around them and was very comfortable caring for them as well. We returned to a house full of happy, healthy critters. Having had several sitters over the years, I can't stress enough how comfortable and at ease all of our pets were with Catherine. It seems everyone involved had a great time in our absence. We are already planning to book Catherine for some other trips we have planned. We are so thankful to have found her - a caring and competent pet sitter is such a huge blessing when you tend to worry about your pets like I do!

Information Catherine C. would like to know about your pet

I have zero preferences and have never met a pet I didn’t love. With that said I love any feedback on needs/wants/dislikes/likes. What makes them uncomfortable. Does you dog like to hunt for squirrels so I can keep my radar up? If your pet like mine and maybe isn’t fond of the bigger canines? No problem let me know! We all have our two second elevator pitch in our heads about our pet.

A typical day

I try to make each day about the dog. If your dog needs a slower walk with lots of time for sniffs and enrichment that’s great! If they want to stop and smell the roses awhile I’ll join. If they prefer a trail and more strenuous activity we can go for a hike or trail run. Each dog needs something different to fulfill them and I am happy to help get them there!
