Hello!! My name is Cate, I am in my early 30s and live in Westwood, MA. I am a HUGE animal lover. I have been increasingly passionate about animal and pet advocacy over the years. Prior to becoming an animal shelter volunteer I had various side gigs as a pet sitter for local families. The duties included: walking, playing, feeding, cleaning, etc. for majority cats and dogs. My favorite part about this is sending their owners photo updates to show that their beloved pet is happy and safe. I started in October 2017 as a weekend dog walker at the Medfield Animal Shelter. I would individually walk 1-5 dogs each Saturday afternoon. Outside of my walking duties, I would also provide meals/treats and administer medication as needed. It is more than just volunteering to me, it is a form of self care. Dogs are very caring, loving, accepting animals and I enjoy each of their personalities and stories. I now work every Saturday with the cats providing dinner, TLC, medications and tidying their spaces. It is something I look forward to all week long. My full time job is as a high school guidance counselor. This allows for increased availability during school vacation weeks and summer months. I DO NOT take on jobs that are recurring as I cannot commit to each day after work. I try to be as accommodating and flexible as possible. I am a dependable, punctual and trustworthy adult who will respect your home and space. I will carefully follow all directions and tasks to make sure you feel your pet is safe in my care. I truly care for any animal like it is my own as it is my responsibility to ensure that my services are positive and beneficial to both you and your pet.
