Kindness and care for your pets!

Pet care experience

I enjoy caring for & training all types of pets and have cared for a variety of species over the years. Pet and house sitting are a fun way for me to get outside and spend time with animals. I’m experienced with fear-free techniques, basic pet first aid, training and grooming. I engage your pet with conversation, small challenges, positive rewards, puzzles, and toys throughout the day. For pets with medical needs, I’m experienced providing constant care / medical monitoring & assistance including: glucose monitoring, renal monitoring, special diets, injections, oral medication, medical hygiene / wound care, and litterbox / potty training rehabilitation. I adapt my focus for each stay based on your pet’s needs. I offer basic training activities to help support your pet’s good behavior and build their confidence while you’re away. If you’re booking for a hotel visit (a 4-6 hour block), I can provide a few new dog toys and treats based on your dog’s breed, size, and play preference for entertainment after our walk.

My toy poodle, Walnut, loves Cassy and walking with her and her dogs. Walnut is tiny so she needs a handler who is mindful of her safety in the city and the busy street that we live on. When I need someone who can take care of her, I trust Cassy knows when to alert me or the vet to an issue. She knows how to be careful with little dogs but also make sure they have fun and get plenty of exercise and social time. She’s my #1 choice when I can’t be home with my pup!

Information Cassy V. would like to know about your pet

Please tell me a little about your pet and their normal schedule, and what you would like their day to look like while under my care. This might include, for example, typical feeding and elimination times, favorite activities, and things you’re currently working on in training. What does your pet like and dislike? What are their favorite treats? What skills or behaviors are you currently working on with your pet? What is your pet’s favorite activity? Does your pet have any behavioral issues or medical concerns you’d like to share?

A typical day

I find most pets take comfort in the familiar when pet parents are away, I like to keep your pet active and engaged at whatever level they are comfortable with, and support their ongoing training and household routines. If there is no schedule currently in place, I generally keep pets on a rolling 4-h6 our schedule of eat, eliminate, play/exercise/training, and nap starting around 7:30 AM and ending at bedtime. I offer lengthier outdoor leashed walks at an additional charge depending on environment, weather, and your pet’s temperament and training. Your dog gets a basic towel off and sanitary tidy after each walk or outdoor play session, and cats get a once-per-visit tidy-up if they’re willing. In the evening I typically spend some time doing massage or just snuggling followed by a last potty break before bed. I like to provide regular brief check ins and house/per photo updates, let me know how often you’d like to hear from us!

I am a consultant, so I work remotely and make my own schedule. My background is in behavioral science, and in my free time I love training and playing with pets! They help me keep learning and constantly switching my perspective, and getting a good dose of laughter most days. I’m typically able to accommodate your pet’s regular schedule to make things as stress-free as possible for your family.
