Pet oasis with a fenced back yard

Pet care experience

I have been caring for all types of animals as long as I can remember as I grew up on ranch. I currently have three dogs of my own (Boston Terriers) that are friendly and love to play with other dogs so having your dog here will be a real treat! Please click "Show More" or "Read More" to read everything about our home and systems. We have a great fenced backyard in a quiet neighborhood, so when the sun is out all the doggies will be able to romp and play in the fresh air. Our backyard has fun "landscaping" so if your dog loves to play and run there are trees and logs to bound around, leap over, and explore! I look forward to meeting you and your fur baby to see if our home would be a great fit for your beloved companion when you are in need of a safe haven for them while you are away. We spend a lot of time outside doing yard work, gardening and doing other projects; we love having your dogs outside with us enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. We love to walk the trails around our house so if your dog likes walks then we will take them with us on trail walks! Your dog will play a lot and get a lot of snuggles from our family of 3! I provide an exclusive, quiet experience that a kennel cannot and your dog will get a lot of love and attention that might not be as feasible at a kennel. I will also provide a customized experience based on your dog’s personality, temperament, and energy level. We are a household and not a kennel so please read all of our systems to make sure that this is a good fit for your dog. I have now boarded dogs over 100 times at our house and we have learned what works and what does not work boarding dogs at our house with what our property provides in greatness but also what it lacks. Please read on Disclaimer - Although we will be inside when the weather is bad, the majority of your dog's stay will be outdoors in the backyard (again, weather dependent). Clients that most enjoy their dogs staying at our home like their dogs to be outside having fun, if you want your dog to be inside a lot even when the weather is nice outside then this might not be a good fit for you. There is a patch of our backyard that is Georgia clay and has leaves and twigs as we have several trees in our backyard. Since we will be spending a lot of time outside in the backyard, your dog will more than likely get dirt on them. My attempts at grooming have been pitiful, I am not a groomer and do not claim to be one so grooming and bathing are not services that I offer. *** Due to this I do not accept breeds with white, high-maintenance coats such as Poodle, Maltese, Bichon Frise, Bolognese, etc. as their coats get dirty in our yard. I have not had any complaints from any other types of breeds as the dirt, leaves, twigs etc can be brushed or washed off of the coats of other breeds easily. *** If you have a dog with a high maintenance coat and you choose to board your dog with me please know that your dog will need to go to a professional groomer after its stay here due to our backyard situation.

Excellent service and care, as usual. Cassidy us trustworthy and regularly updates with pics/videos. I believe Tucker prefers to stay with her rather than us. Highly recommend her.

Disclaimer - Sometimes my two older dogs are playful, sometimes they just sleep. Our puppy is especially playful and rambunctious, if I feel like she is too rambunctious for your dog(s) I will keep her away from your dog(s). My male loves to play but if your dog doesn't play with him then he will loose interest and play with our puppy instead. My adult female will initially want to smell your dog but she doesn’t play much and is more interested in chasing lizards and squirrels up our trees. When you first drop off your dog all three of my dogs will be excited at the same time which might seem like a lot but they do not have much stamina due their breed (and for the adults their age) and will calm down quickly and go to sleep after their burst of excitement. *** If you know that your dog has separation anxiety then this arrangement will probably not be the best fit for your dog as all of our dogs are outside (or in their crates in the garage if the weather is bad) when we are cooking or eating. We love dogs and we love being around dogs, we also like to enjoy family meals without dogs jumping, barking or begging when it’s time to cook and eat. Meet and Greet I have learned not do meet and greets inside the house because it turns into chaos with my dogs and your dog(s) trying to run and play in a small space, I keep the "horse" play outside. No matter how trained your dog is at your house, they have not been trained at my house and if they do not do their business outside they usually end up doing their business in my house by starting to mark territory. Meet and greets start outside and then we can make our way inside. - When you arrive for your meet and greet I will have you and your dog(s) come through the gate in our driveway that goes into the backyard. It's easiest if you text me to meet you in the driveway so that my dogs don't go nuts when they hear the doorbell, however if you prefer to ring the doorbell I will meet you at the front door and walk with you and your dog outside of the house to the backyard. - Your dog will then be able to go off leash and run around and sniff and do their business. - After that then I will let my dogs out so that our dogs can interact with yours in the backyard. This part is usually high energy as my 3 dogs will be excited to meet and play with your dog(s) and after some running and playing they will calm down. - Once all of the dogs have calmed down outside then it's time to see the inside of our house, if I forget this step please feel free to remind me as my focus will be on watching how the dogs are interacting and I will be talking to you and answering your questions while the dogs are getting acquainted. As you can imagine, as a dog boarder I spend a lot of time using my carpet cleaner to keep my house clean when there is a doggy accident so when you come for your meet and greet please take off your shoes when it’s time to come inside. Please ask me any questions that you may have,

Information Cassidy D. would like to know about your pet

I have 3 Boston Terriers and there might be other dogs boarded at my house at the same time as yours, how well does your dog get along with other dogs? (I only accept two dogs at a time to spend the night, if I am at full capacity there could be up to 3 other boarded dogs if two are getting picked up the same day that you and another dog get dropped off, this rarely happens but it is a possibility especially around a major holiday.) Is your dog crate trained? Is your dog is up-to-date on vaccinations? I only board small or medium breeds (40 pounds or less), so I will want to know what kind of dog you have, and how big your dog is. I want to know all your pup’s care instructions so please fill out their Rover profile. Do they need any special supplements or medications? Do they have any behavior quirks that I need to know about? How do they let you know when they need to go to the bathroom? Our dogs are bell trained so they ring the bell on the dining room door to go out into the backyard to potty. If you are booking far enough in advance please bell train your dogs so that they can have the best possible experience at our home. What commands and tricks does your dog know? Please let me know what your dog's favorite activities are so that we can play with them the way that they most enjoy. Do they have a favorite toy? Please bring it with you and show me how they like to play with it. Please bring: treats so that when I call your dog they will come to me your dog's crate your dog's food and enough of it for the entirety of their stay anything else that you think your dog will enjoy during their time at our house I have spare blankets, food dishes, and water dishes for visitors but you are welcome to bring your own if you wish

A typical day

We have a house with a fenced backyard, so every day starts with potty time outside. I will make sure your dog gets plenty of playtime, and gets some time away from other dogs during meals. I will send updates and pictures so you know things are going well. Your dog’s well being and happiness will be my priority.

Schedule & Feeding - I am home almost all day everyday so pet care throughout the day is easy! Dogs are let out of their crates between 7-8am to potty and run around and then fed breakfast. Dinner is around 5-6pm and play is all day, dogs rest when they choose to. Please let me know if you want your dog on a specific feeding schedule and I will happily follow your specifics. I feed dogs in their crates so that dogs do not eat each other's food and so that dogs do not exhibit food aggression with each other. Our dogs will eat your dog's food if it is left out. I watch the dogs eat and let them out when they are done eating. If your dog does not eat their food right away I will give them multiple opportunities throughout the day to eat their food so that they can eat when they are hungry. Sleeping & Crates - Dogs go in their crates in the garage to sleep for 8 hours at night 😴. If your dog cannot sleep in a crate for 8 hours at night then this is not the right place to board your dog. Our dogs also sleep in the garage, my husband is a light sleeper so the snoring and other sounds that dogs make at night wake him up which is why our own dogs have been sleeping in the garage the entire time that we have lived in our current house. Sometimes dogs have accidents in their crates at night. If this happens I will wash them, their bedding, and their crate. If your dog's crate gets debris in it from our yard I will spray it down to clean it out before your pick up time and if your dog is staying here on a day that we are cleaning our dogs’ crates we will go ahead and clean yours for you as well. Our garage is carpeted, insulated, & temperature controlled which is one of the reasons that we bought this house, we joke that we bought this house for our dogs lol There might be rare times where I need to run an errand such as picking up groceries etc. When I do occasionally need to run an errand your dog(s) will be safe in their crate(s) in the garage. I make sure that I only run one errand at a time if I am boarding a dog and I do as much online and do as much on days that I am not boarding dogs as I can to ensure that your dog is rarely in their crate. Drop Offs and Pick Ups - I can accommodate drop-offs and pick-ups between 7am - 7pm. If you cannot drop off or pick up your dog within these hours please let me know. Texting works best as I cannot hear the doorbell ring if I am in the backyard with the dogs. Please text me when you are about 15-20 minutes away so that I can gather up your dog's crate, food, and toys so that I can have everything ready for you when you arrive and that window of notice also gives me time to put up all other dogs either in the house or in their crates to make drop offs and pick ups safer and easier for all dogs involved. If you do not text me in advance then you will need to wait outside the gate while I secure all of the other dogs before I can open the gate for your dog. Putting dogs up is MUCH easier when they are calm rather than when they are excited by someone at the gate so please respect the safety of other's dogs as you want the safety of your dog respected. All drop offs and pick ups will be at the gate in the driveway by the backyard, I have tried front door pickups/drop-offs and it almost always ends with my dogs running out the front door in the excitement of the "doorbell energy" so I avoid that scenario by doing backyard pickups/drop-offs. I put a photo of my dogs at the front door in my gallery photos so that you can see what I am seeing when someone comes to the front door, 3 terriers excited to say hi immediately. Also your crate, dog food etc will be in our garage and laundry room so it is easier to take your dog’s items from the garage to the driveway rather than all the way around the front of the house. I will show you when you come for your meet and greet. Our laundry room is where I store everyone’s dog food and put together doggy meals as it is conveniently located right off of the garage. I usually keep the gate to the yard locked for all of the dogs' safety with a few exceptions. After you let me know that you are on our way I will try to have the gate unlocked for you and your dog. Sometimes I might not have enough time to unlock the gate before you get here (gentle reminder - please text when you are on your way), if the gate is locked when you arrive... Dogs are very excited to see their owners at pickup so when it's time for me to unlock the gate, please help me calm your dog down by talking in a calm tone rather than an excited tone that gets them excited & riled up and walk over to a fence panel that is NOT the gate so that you can pet them through the fence if you wish while I unlock the gate. As soon as the gate is open then by all means let the reunited celebrations begin! People sometimes try to pet their excited dog at the gate entrance while I am trying to unlock it as the dog is trying to get out to its owner and it is very challenging so please help me help you and your dog, thank you in advance 😉☺️🙏
