Pet care experience

I'm excited to bond with your pet! I am the trusted go-to for my friends and family for their pet care needs. I have watched cats and dogs in all capacities from drop-ins to extended stay in home and boardings. As well as fostering rescue dogs, I rescued many stray cats, and found them forever homes. In fact, the adorable tabby in my pictures, Chloé, is a rescue that I brought back to the States with me. While your pet is in my care, I will love them just as I would my own. I love playing with pets, grooming them, cuddling them - I just love animals! I will always opt for sweetness and cooperation before taking a stern approach.

As always, Cass is fabulous! We continue coming back as we 1000% trust her with our fur child and know he is safe and well taken care of with her! We have had several bad experiences with other sitters in nyc, and finding Cass has been an absolute godsend. Thank you Cass!

This was my second time leaving Lucky with Cassandra and I'm pleased to say that her encore was just as great as the debut. Lucky was so excited to see her that I was able to sneak out the door without being noticed, which is usually the most painful part of leaving town. I came back to an apartment that was tidier than I had left it and I'm pretty sure it was also more fragrant. She followed my instructions to the letter, she sent me enough photos that i didn't have to worry but didn't feel bombarded, and Lucky was in great spirits without any poutiness when i returned. I will rebook her for future travel without hesitation -- in fact, I'm pretty sure Lucky would throw a fit if I didn't. I really can't recommend her highly enough. Thanks again for taking such good care of Lucky!!

As I would ask of my pet-sitter, I first make sure all basic needs are met according to the stipulations provided by you. From there, I’ll focus on walks and bathroom time, play, cuddles, entertainment, training and maintaining habits for your pet. Please let me know exactly what you are working on so we can practice and maintain your desired habits and routines. I’ll check in if I have any questions or concerns about your pet during their stay here. I love taking pictures of your pets, and sometimes I even get out the nice camera when we go to the park. You will get lots of photos! You can expect me to be at home most of the time with your pet. I am pro pets on the furniture and bed, but if you are not, I'm happy to maintain your rules at home during your pet's stay in my care. I have one pet of my own here. She is a sweet, social, and playful cat named Chloe that I rescued while I live in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. We traveled to the States together in the early fall of 2021. At first she will be a bit wary of new pets and people, but she quickly evolves into a playful and engaging companion. She very infrequently will attack, growl, or hiss. She is generally curious and enjoys the company of other people and animals after she's had a short amount of time to assess them. She had her most recent physical in March, and she is totally healthy. A few standards you can expect me to follow whle caring for your pets in my home: *I only use non-harmful cleaning products in my home like vinegar, castille soap, baking soda, and if a disinfectant is required, some rubbing alchohol. *All common cat and dog toxic foods are stored in high cabinets out of reach, but if your pet has any other allergies, please let me know so I can keep those items in a safe place too. *I will never offer your pets people food. *I have a spare room, so I am able to separate pets if they need to be separtaed. ***Please do not ask to pay using any other method than with Rover. It is against policy, and I will not accept it.

Information Cassandra K. would like to know about your pet

Could I ask you to please be prepared to answer the following questions? 1. feeding schedule 2. Walks and bathroom schedule. 3 bad (example: chewing shoes)/good habits 4. training schedule etc. 5. Can your dog go to the dog park? 6. Does your pet have any allergies or medications? 7. If your dog leash reactive. What are their triggers? 8. Are there any parts of your pet's body that they strongly disline to be pet (example: belly) 9. Does your pet have/need any special clothing for particular kind of weather? before we meet. How is your dog around cats? I have one cat here named Chloé. She’s over 3 years old, and she is very comfortable around dogs. 10. Would you like me to do anything in particular for your pet in your absence? Feel free to ask. I would be happy to brush them or even take them to a vet appointment. How does your pet react to different kinds of weather? Do you have weather appropraite accessories for them (i.e. raincoat for rainy weather). I really need to know your attitude about your pet at the dog park!! May they go to the park, or not? Spring is here, and summer is approaching. It's an unfortunate reality that many people leave their food and trash all over the place. PLEASE, PLEASE , PLEASE tell me expressly your pets' behavior toward food on the ground, unsupervised food in the home, and other pets' food so that I can prepare with whatever level of caution and vigilance necessary.

A typical day

I will be ready to feed your pet in the morning, and then we will promptly go out for a walk or playtime in the park. Our time during this will depend on the weather and your pet's preferences. I will message you if your pet's bathroom habits seem unusual to what you specified, so don't be shy to elaborate about. After outside time, we'll head back inside for water and any other approprate activities before a repose. I am very responsive to bathroom needs. When your pet is ready, we'll take another trip, or even multiple trips, outside before dinner. I do not leave the local area while your pet is in my care. Sometimes I am running errands around the area, and your pet is invited to join me if they would like to and if it's appropriate. If you have cats, the litter will be cleaned at minimun once a day. I will happily take your dog to the Tompkins Square Dog Park, or for a nice long walk around Stuytown. If your pet is bookish, we may even visit and cafe and study or do some work together. Please leave your dog’s/cat’s preferred toys so we can play inside too.

Availability

I have a very flexible schedule as I am currently studying online, and have no commitments beyond that. I am happy to care for your pet as you need. The Stuytown dog park is out the back door of my building, and the Tompkins Square dog park is just a 5 minutes walk down Avenue B. My partner is an E.R. doctor and sometimes does a string of 3-4 overnight shifts in a row. Having extra company here is such a delight! ***Willing to be generous with recurring customers with good pets. In my spare time, I enjoy growing my own food, raising rare plants, arranging flowers, working in my studio, and going to yoga.
