My household growing up included cats, and a German Shepherd & a Siberian Husky. I enjoy horseback riding although I don't get the opportunity to do it very often these days. I have 15+ of experience caring for children, pets and house-sitting. Now as an adult, I have two Dachshund dogs (6 1/2 years old), who have not only been a joy to train, raise and love on everyday but also a confirmation of my love and passion for dogs and all animals. I have been able to learn and use training techniques that actually work. I've also learned a generous amount of information in regards to dog health and overall wellness (food/exercise) to ensure my furry friends live a natural, healthy and balanced long-life. The long term goal is to open an Indoor Dog Park (Daycare mix) in the Orlando area, as its always a struggle to get creative indoors when the rain takes over or when the heat seems to be overwhelming. For now, I'd like to gain as much experience as possible caring for dogs. I truly relate with other pet owners and understand the importance of wanting nothing but the best care for their loved pet when they cannot be there. My two Dachshunds are used to it being all about them and it can take a little bit for them to get used to dogs staying over at our house; however, they have been around my families Dachshunds and enjoy dog parks. They do bark initially when meeting new people/dogs and prefer to go up to new people at their leisure, rather than having new people smother them initially. We also have a 2 1/2 year old son, who is gentle with animals, but does run, make loud unexpected noises, crash his toys and run around crazy (haha), so your dog must be kid-friendly and not easily frightened. We do have a decent sized back yard (fenced in) and a screened in patio, so we will be able to offer plenty of on and off separation and outdoor play time.
