Animal enthusiast for all animals

Pet care experience

I have had several years of caring for a range of animals, from cats and dogs, to reptiles and fish. I studied animal sciences at a 4-year university and have learned exceptional skills on how to handle and interact with many animals. When I walk dogs, I include small bits of training to help assist the animal so they feel more confident and less nervous while out in public. I am by no means a professional trainer, but I've done some training with my pitbull mix, who used to experience excitement reactivity and barrier frustration, and she now understands basic commands while out on walks and inside the house, as well as understanding how to keep engaged with me on walks. Some people call me an 'animal whisperer' because of how well animals acclimate to me. So, I will be the perfect match for your pet and will make them feel loved and cared for while you're away.

Cass was great with my crazy pug and my older cat. She sent pictures and communicated well, and I can tell she took excellent care of them. Highly recommend!

I can't say enough wonderful things about Casandra! We received lots of pictures and updates. Our house was absolutely spotless when we returned. Our nervous, high maintenance dog warmed up immediately to Cas. She also had another dog, cat and hairless guinea pig that she cared for with expert skills. I highly recommend Cas as a sitter and will be a repeat client ♥️

Safety, trust & environment

I have a set feeding schedule for all of my furry companions as stated above. Their first feedings typically around 9am, then later at 9pm. I make an effort to walk my dog for at least 30 minutes to an hour after eating, and after settling for about 30 mins. Litterboxes for the cats are cleaned every day or every other day, and the reptiles are fed every day, ever other day or once a week, depending on the species. When doing drop-in visits, I will feed pets upon instruction with detailed lists for any added supplements, meds, etc. If requested, I will also walk your dog for the time limit requested, and will not charge if requested during an overnight booking.

Information Casandra R. would like to know about your pet

I'd like to know if a dog understands basic commands, like recall (responding to their name) and sit. I would also like to know if they may have any resource guarding issues or food aggression, how they react when a new person is entering their home, and also their manners on a leash. Are they reactive towards cars, bikes, people, other animals, etc? I also like to be made aware of any strange or unique behaviors.

A typical day

I will likely allow the pets to get to know me first and engage on their own time, at their own pace. Once comfortable, I will likely introduce a toy and some treats or physical affection. I like to walk quiet parks and trails that won't be too stressful on a dog, especially if they seem unsure of myself or the environment. I enjoy playing fetch and tug with dogs and using stick toys to play with cats

I am now working 2nd shift, so I will only be accepting bookings where pets can be left for 6-8 hours in the evening (~ 3/4p-9/11:30p). I do not have a definitive schedule just yet, but will likely be Tues-Thursday 4p-11p, & some Saturdays from 8a-1p! My animals are taken care of by my parnter while I'm away, & they eat breakfast between 9a-10a & dinner between 8p-10p.
