Fur friends are the best kind!!

Pet care experience

Hi! My name is Caryn, but I go by Cary😊 I’ve been doing Rover since Sept 2019. I found Rover after we adopted our German Shepard. We needed to go away and put her into a kennel. It was such a bad experience. We picked her up and she was terrified, picked up the habit of barking at all things walking, and smelled like urine. When we needed to go away again ,I asked a friend if she would stay at my place with our pup. That is when she told me about Rover. I loved the idea so much that I began to also do rover on the side! I am currently a student at Lewis University working on my second degree. I have sat for other people's fur babies, done numerous drop ins, and many walks. I used to allow for sitting at my house, but I find that dogs do so much better in their own environments. Especially those super anxious ones, like my rescue GSD. I do this along with my family. My family and I take turns with the booking, depending on who is available and when. Who you meet at the meet and greet will be the person(s) taking on the responsibility of the position. My fiancé, Andy, works from home but will travel from time to time. Sometimes he is also available to do walks, drop ins, or house sits. He has volunteered many times at the humane shelter and is very good with animals. My 17 year old, Emily, also does walks and has plenty of experience with it as she has joined me on many and done quite a few solo (as long as it is okay with the owner, of course!) she also does drop ins and can do housesits but I typically stay the night with her. She has a Yorkie and a cockatiel. My oldest, Brianna, is 22 and is a vet receptionist in Bolingbrook. She aspires to become a equestrian tech. She is very good with all animals. She has a horse and a cat named Oliver. We hope to be able to help you with whatever your pet needs! We also will watch birds, fish, bunnies, hamsters. You name it, and I’m sure we’ve done it!!!

Caryn took great care of my pups. I got daily updates, pics. This is the 1st time I had a dog sitter stay in my house and it went very smooth! I enjoyed my trip without worry or anxiety.

If your dog has any special needs please let me know. I can administer pills or shots and other medications to your dog/cat if needed. It is also helpful to know words your pet is associated with and any signs or commands they know. For instance we use “off” but others may use “down”. Knowing these things can help a great deal.
