Best friends deserve the best care!
Pet care experience
**Please note: Currently accepting bookings through May 1st** I've been my neighbors and friends go-to pet sitter for decades, and have had my own furry family members for the past 12 years. My experiences range from multi-dog and multi-animal homes, cats, small caged animals, senior dogs, dogs with behavioral challenges, and puppies! I'm a dog dad with a big heart for furry friends. I've had excellent experiences with Rover sitters for my own puppy and am excited to meet your dog and provide similarly caring, patient, and fun experiences for your four-legged family members! I have trained each dog I've rescued and am currently training a puppy now. Maintaining a training routine and schedule is important for dogs (puppies and their older companions!), and I believe "puppy care" is about much more than frequent bathroom trips. So if you want to add on training maintenance for your pup (no matter the age), I can provide structured training walks, socialization outings, and daily training sessions for visits or stays.

I have a large, fenced-in yard (6' privacy fence; jumpers are safe!) so your pup will have all the casual outdoor time they need and/or want, and live around the corner from a walking/bike trail for daily walks. My home is entirely dog-friendly w/ extra rooms if your dog does better with introverted nap/sleep time, and I will crate them if they are typically crated. On the other hand, my furniture has been given "4+ paws" from furry friends who are allowed on furniture, including a comfy, king-sized bed if your doggo is used to sleeping with a human. I have a 9 month old puppy who has learned his social manners and loves making new friends. He loves to share his energy, attention, and toys -- and is respectful if your dog prefers their space or takes their time warming up to others.

Information Carter G. would like to know about your pet
I believe all dogs are loveable and some just need some extra attention, care, and structures to help set them up for success. Any details you can provide about your dog's specific behavioral needs will be appreciated and useful in determining if they would feel safe and comfortable in my care. I have experience with dogs with behavioral challenges, including but not limited to: reactivity (leash, crate, etc.), aggression and guarding (food, resource, human, etc.), anxiety (separation or otherwise), etc. I'm a confident dog handler so long as I know what to expect, and we can use our meet & greet to discuss the best structures and care to set your doggoes up for success!
A typical day
When the weather is nice, dogs will have nearly full-time access to my backyard (except when I'm away for teaching!), which means they can romp and play inside or outside to their hearts content, and then pick a shady spot or come inside for a little nap. On hot days, I have a puppy splash pad and always have freshly-made frozen treats for the doggoes. On cool or rainy days, I have a bunch of enrichment games and toys for dogs of all sizes and love doing short training games for fun! In addition, I like near a bike trail and a decently sized park, so walks that provide varying stimulation are right around the corner!

I'm a PhD student so I have a LOT of flexibility in my schedule. Except for when I teach, I work and write from home so I will be able to provide your pup with the care and attention they need -- and can reasonably adjust my schedule so it matches with the typical structure you provide your pup. This includes maintenance of your dog's typical schedule and structure.
