I have great passion and respect for all creatures in the animal kingdom, but the greatest love I have is especially for dogs. I honestly believe the phrase that they are truly one of, 'man's best friends'. I have owned and lived with dogs for the majority of my life and found each to be unique and lovable in their own personal way. They offer friendly and therapeutic relationships if treated well and are placed in positive environments. Family members of mine have all owned large dogs ( Cane Corsos (185+lbs.), Golden retrievers, Pit Bulls) and would teach the proper ways to interact, feed, wash, play, and communicate with in a safe manner at all times. My uncle (who trains dogs, specifically Labradors) taught me the correct ways to handle, feed, and walk larger dogs properly. He would instruct me on how to do these things safely while still allowing the dogs the freedom to interact with others and express aspects of their personalities in public settings. I have dog-sat for months at a time in relatives and friends' homes and never experienced an unexpected or dangerous situation. I am conscientious and detail-oriented with respect to the dogs' eating and waste habits, as well as understanding their needs for physical recreation and social interaction. I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs regardless of size, age, or barking habits and always follow directions given by the owners to the smallest of details. I understand that these pets are family members and should receive the utmost respect and courtesy.
