Pet care experience
I recently moved to New Mexico and I am excited to connect with new folks and their animals! I graduated from college this spring and during my four years of school I worked regularly for multiple families walking their dogs and housesitting. I also volunteered weekly at the animal shelter and have experience working with all sizes, breeds and temperaments of cats and dogs (as well as a few rodents). I interned at an animal sanctuary for a summer where I trained and cared for multiple dogs, cats and farm animals. I grew up in a house full of dogs, cats and chickens and I miss them everyday since I moved away! I would be thrilled to spend time working with your dog giving them some exercise, leash training or love whatever they need!

Carson is amazing! Such a friendly person and Bourbon loved her! She was really good with him and made sure he was comfortable with her walking him. I know my little guy is in good hands and we will be using her services way more!
I was very pleased with Carson as a pet sitter. As Ariel can be very nervous, I felt with Carson’s calmness she kept Ariel calm, especially being with her during the 4th fireworks. I was able to relax on my vacation knowing I had someone reliable staying in my home. From the pictures she sent I could tell Ariel was quite happy, especially her hike.
I am so beyond impressed with Carson that no words will ever be enough. She loves dogs and Pinky absolutely loved her! Carson is responsible, so caring and flat out the best! We are sincerely grateful for her services and Can’t wait to use her again! You will never go wrong booking her! Ty ty ty ty ty!

Due to a shy cat, I am unable to board dogs at my home as I don’t want to disrupt her. While pet sitting, I never leave dogs unattended outside, monitor them closely for overheating in the summer, always keep a full water dish, keep kitchen counters clear to avoid unhealthy food consumption and never have any other people or animals over to respect the space of the animal and homeowners.

I think the most important information to know is whether your pet is dog reactive and what their boundaries are in regards to meeting strangers. I have experience with dogs that are sensitive to various groups (ie kids or men) and know how to calmly get them out of potentially stressful situations. I also would want to know about any health conditions to look out for and how much exercise they can handle.
A typical day
I love going on long walks in quiet neighborhoods and hiking in the National Forest. I also love the dog park and am comfortable monitoring interactions between animals to make sure your dog stays safe if that is an activity they enjoy. I love playing fetch and tug-a-war and hanging out with playful dogs. I have also taken high energy dogs on jogs with me in the mornings and evenings when it is cool enough for everyone to be happy :)

Availability
I work as an ecology assistant for the National Park Service. This means I travel every other week to complete field work at a different national park in the southwest. I love my job because of all the places I get to see, but the schedule does mean I can’t have any pets of my own which is hard. I am a huge animal person and have lots of love to give to yours on my off weeks! I have my schedule updated to show availability on my weeks off so anytime I am scheduled to housesit I will have no additional work commitments (except occasional remote work) and can be incredibly flexible to dedicate time to your home and animals. My favorite hobbies on my off days are playing music and getting outdoors, and I’d be happy for some company during both! I also am happy to spend time at the house relaxing if your animal would be most comfortable sticking around a familiar environment :)
