Pet care experience

I have two large dogs, GoldenDoodle (74 lbs) and an Old English Sheepdog (67 lbs). They are both social and love to play. They play very well with large and small dogs, but I prefer to board dogs within the 20lb to 60lb range (exceptions may be made for smaller or larger Doodles). We have a large fenced in yard and a doggy door so dogs can have access to the backyard as they wish. Our cat is kept away from the dogs because he’s not a fan. He stays upstairs and there is a baby gate so the dogs do not have access to the second floor. I’ve house-trained and crate trained dogs. I have teenage children who love animals as well. We have a large fenced in backyard which is larger than any “boarding facility” that you may place your dog in. Your dog or cat will have human interaction almost 24/7, frequent playtime in the yard, house, and walks in the neighborhood and cats having human interaction as much as they wish and playtime.

Safety, trust & environment

I will follow the pet owners instructions. I will make sure that the Pet Owner and I are on the same page regarding what is expected of their Dog or Cats care. Things to consider: We have a moderately busy house hold with myself, my husband, and kids coming in and out throughout the day and early evening. If your dog is territorial or not used to this kind of environment and is triggered to the point of aggressive barking and/or excessing marking our home is not the place for your dog. I do have large crates inside that are comfy and cozy and can provide a safe space for dogs. Depending on your dogs behavior and your recommendation, I can put your dog in a crate if I have to run and errand or if thats what they prefer at night. **We only board 1 dog at a time, but will consider 2 if from the same family**

Information Carrie F. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if there are specific behaviors I need to be aware of with your dog(s). Or if there is a favorite routine that you have l can try to mimic that here at my home. We are most familiar with Doodles and Old English Sheepdogs. We will accept stays for other breeds, but will reach out if we are not familiar with the breed that you have. Our second day of boarding through Rover we had a dog attack my husband as he came in from work. We cancelled a stay that was upcoming sort of last minute due to this experience which required an ER visit. We feel like this dog was protecting me and the rest of the dogs and so naturally was protecting the pack, but this was a very scary experience. If your dog has any history of territorial behavior like this please do not request a stay at our home. We understand that all dogs can be territorial, but this particular dog attacked my husband as if my husband was a predator; he also nipped/bit my daughter when she came home from school and was aggressive toward any family member that was not with him all day long.

A typical day

I have a large fenced in backyard and two dogs of my own that love to socialize and play. Your dog(s) will be treated as part of the family/pack during their stay. I will individually walk your dog(s) allowing them to explore the neighborhood without being distracted by my own dogs.
