The best way to have a happy/good dog is routine outdoor exercise and play. It lessens destructive behaviors, balances their moods, and engages the handler/dog bond. This is something I have enjoyed doing with my own dogs, and found the benefits rewarding. In the past, I have balanced full time school, work, and meeting my dogs needs to keep chewing and destructive behaviors at bay. Now with online services, it's much easier to find help when life gets too busy. I will walk and work on engaging the dog in good leash manners. Give them plenty of time to stretch their legs, and as always, clean up after their messes. Home visits are good for potty breaks and interaction for those where the day gets long. I can check food and water, give treats (if requested), and play with favorite toys. Will also check homes for accidents in areas dog is permitted. I prefer keeping dogs on leash when outside, unless yard is securely fenced.
