Your Dog's New BFF-Guaranteed!

Pet care experience

REMINDER: I will not be seeing clients June/July 2024 as I will be traveling with my babies. If needed, I can refer you to another sitter in the area. Enjoy your summer! 04/28 SERVICE UPDATE: I am no longer accepting any form of doodle mixes for in-home services (boarding and daycare) unless they are repeat clients. This is due to an overwhelming amount of requests and initial meet and greets with reactive and aggressive pups. Sorry for any inconvenience. You love dogs, I love dogs, my dog loves dogs. Sounds like a perfect fit. I love fur-babies of all shapes and sizes. My family is Lebanon-local and we have worked with multiple rescues for the last 15 or more years. My husband and I have recently purchased our first home in Lebanon this past December and I am looking forward to continue serving Lebanon, albeit from a different location. :) My family has fostered, dog-sat, and offered training for pups of all shapes and sizes from yorkies to mastiffs. We have occasional drop-in's from "Granna" and her two dogs, Goldie and Gillian, but no cats in the home due to some pretty gnarly allergies. My husband is active duty military and is in and out, so it will typically only be me, but please don't be surprised if he is around while your pup is with me -- dogs seem to flock to him anyway. My husband and I are "childless millennials" and have two fur-babies that are our whole world. Our eldest child is our 4 year old golden retriever and my cardiac alert dog, Bowie. She has been to 48 states and 36 national parks. Our youngest is our almost 2 year old great dane named New Orleans; she is very shy and a huge scaredy cat (think Scooby Doo), but loves to run and play. They are well-trained around other friends and on a pretty solid routine of having guests visit between previous fosters dropping in for "camp," or new fosters coming to couch surf until they find a forever home, as well as new and repeat clients through Rover. Everyone is safely introduced in a slow and structured manner before any play time is allowed; however, no unsupervised playtime will take place--safety comes first. I am experienced in puppy care, senior care, medication administration, emergency care, basic and advanced obedience training, enrichment for different needs and functions, and basic to moderate levels of grooming.

Carri is just amazing! She was very understanding of my anxious dog with separation anxiety and made dropping him off a breeze. Would def recommend and will rebook again in the future. She even sent my Hershey home with a mini dog care bag. She goes above and beyond and you can really tell that she cares for the dogs.

Carri is amazing. She gave us updates, pictures & even cute videos every visit during our trip away. Our babies loved her. I just can’t say enough about how wonderful she was with both our dogs. She left them each a little gift on her last visit. Highly recommended.

We booked Carri for drop in visits with our pup and were pleased with the care and attention she provided while we were away at work! Carri is very communicative and the Rover cards she left at the end of each visit were thorough and provided lots of pictures :) As someone who initially feels nervous working with new (to us) sitters, I quickly felt at ease with her and we look forward to working with her in the future!

Safety, trust & environment

At our home, we have our backyard fenced in for playtime and potty breaks. All introductions are structured and supervised to ensure safety for everyone involved. All play and downtime is supervised unless everyone is put up. My Dane is crated for down time, meals, and when I am not home. Bowie is relegated to the master bedroom for these times as well. Guests in the home will have their own separate space for down time as well. If your pup is crate trained, I highly recommend providing their crate so that they have a familiar safe space. I do not leave collars on while crated or when I leave the home to maintain safety at all times--sorry, anxious dog mom. Any time your pup is left with me, I try to adhere to their normal schedule as much as possible to minimize the already-stressful new environment. Please feel free to send any supplies or tools you regularly use with your pet at home and I will do my best to maintain that consistency. I provide nail trimming complimentary with boarding and daycare clients-just let me know prior to booking so I can make myself a note to remember. I do provide grooming for an extra fee including the following: wash, dry, paw pad butter, ear cleaning, full brush-out and trimming. This can be provided in home or I can take your pet to a wash-bay for this. Both are covered by the grooming fee (+20) to cover supplies and/or wash bay cost. Like a true BARK ranger handler, I follow the "Leave No Trace" approach to drop in services and walks when visiting your home to provide drop-in, walks, or grooming services. I use the Rover card to leave very detailed notes and an overview of my time with your pet. I track all walks, potty, and meal breaks with photos included so you can have a detailed look into my time with your baby. The only "trace" of my presence that you should find is a happy pet and the occasional goody bag. I am very much an open book and an over-communicator from my time as a special education teacher. I typically respond relatively quickly to messages unless I am tied up at work or servicing another client. If you ever have a question, concern, need to change a booking, or just want an update: please just send me a message and I'll take care of it as quickly as possible. I will send AT LEAST 3 updates with photos per visit; if this is too much or not enough, please let me know and I'll adjust to your liking.

Information Carri M. would like to know about your pet

This primarily concerns new clients, but I do appreciate the following items/questions to be covered prior to the stay beginning: 1. Are there any behavioral concerns I should be aware of? Example: my mother's dog is very fast and will run away given the opportunity; she bites when her toes are touched; she is terrified of fireworks. Please don't be afraid to be very detailed or blunt; I promise I have seen worse. 2. What are your dog's potty cues (whining, not trained, doorbell, etc)? I use bells on the back door. 3. Are there any medical concerns I need to be aware of? Please include allergies or food sensitivities. My girls both have sensitive tummies so we do very bland or homemade treats and supplements. 4. Is your vet information correct on your pet's account and is your pet up to date on vaccinations? I don't require proof of vaccines, but will quarantine my pups if you have a younger dog still missing part of a series. Again, safety first. In the case of a medical episode or emergency, I will call you first. If I cannot contact you, I will immediately try the emergency contact and then your vet's office. In the case that nobody can be reached and it is an emergency, your pet will be taken to my vet at Kinslow Clinic in Lebanon. 5. Where does your pup normally stay when unsupervised? Are they crate trained? Can you provide their crate if needed? I have one extra and it is for dogs 60lbs and under. If they are not crate trained, can they be left behind a baby gate in a spare room with food and water (note: any property destruction falls onto the client--this includes cleaning for extensive urine or feces damage). 6. Can your pup be left alone for any period of time or do they require constant care? Constant care is defined as never being left alone for greater than half an hour, which is not available during the school day, but is available if requested at a higher rate. Rate for constant care is as follows: Boarding and Day-Care: (under 6 months $50/night. 6 months and up:$45/night).

A typical day

I offer a variety of fun things for your fur-babies during my care. I am big advocate for physical and mental stimulation, so we do a lot of enrichment activities in our time together. We have plenty of toys available of many different shapes, sizes, textures, and purposes. We also have plenty of room for supervised playtime and lots of different napping options for the more mellow crowd. For stays longer than 48 hours, we typically do a craft of some sort--whether that is painting, ornament making, or baking homemade treats together. This is always sent home on the last day of the stay. In addition to all of the activities we do, I send home a report card for each day of the stay detailing more of your baby's time to "camp" with me. My goal is for your baby to have so much fun that they sleep hard once they go home. Most of my clients come back excited and with a wiggle butt as soon as they pull into the driveway.

Availability

I currently work full time as a special education teacher during the weeks with occasional after school commitments, but boarding is always available when I'm in town. I do travel out of state during the school breaks to see my husband, who is in the Navy, with our dogs, so those timeframes will be blacked out, but I will occasionally offer drop-ins for grooming, care, and walks while out of town. Repeat and regular clients are welcome to book with my mom, Granna, while I am out of town. Boarding, Drop-ins, Daycare, and Walks are all available 7 days a week unless blocked out on the calendar. As mentioned above, I do work 7-3 as a special education teacher with occasional afternoon commitments, so pet care will revolve around that schedule. Please keep these times in mind when scheduling services. I am pretty flexible with times of services, and unlike other sitters, I do not charge additional fees for late/early pick ups or drop-offs (within reason--please no 3am requests preferably). When I am not traveling, I am very much a stay-at-home dog mom. I spend most, if not all, of my spare time with my girls. Aside from work, I am typically not away from my girls for more than 2ish hours including transition time. We enjoy walks, play time, playing catch, going to the lake, and spending lazy days on the couch with a good book or a craft. When your pet is with me, they will be treated like one of my own and part of the furry family and welcome to any and all activities that my girls are a part of.
