My boyfriend and I live in a quiet, safe, and very dog-friendly condominium complex on the St. Joseph river with a 7-year-old male hound mutt from North Mississippi named Darl, after a William Faulkner book (from his hometown), who likes to walk along the water, play at the dog park and relax on the couch. At least one of us our home almost all day, every day, with minor exceptions during the semester. Running and biking are an option for more athletic dogs, or sitting on the patio in the sun for the more sedentary types. There are a number of parks, both dog parks and human parks, within walking and driving distance, and forested trails surrounding the development. Less than a mile from Notre Dame but discreetly off-campus.
