Pet care experience
I am the proud dog mama to a twelve-year-old rat terrier named Andy D, so named by my husband when our dog showed up sopping wet and freezing on his doorstep nine years ago because, just like the character in The Shawshank Redemption movie, he “crawled through a river of poop and came out clean on the other side!” Andy became my husband’s dog from that day forward, and he then became our dog after my husband and I met in 2012. Andy has become a bit of a curmudgeon in his old age, but he loves nothing more than a meandering stroll around the neighborhood followed by a treat and a belly rub. I am very happy to take care of your dog with the same love and respect that I offer to Andy. I am available most days, have my own car, and am very reliable. I will make a point to keep you updated on how your fur baby is doing while you are away.

Information Carolyn V. would like to know about your pet
Before taking care of your pets, I would like to know how many and what type of pets I would be taking care of, what services I would be expected to provide (pet feeding, dog walking, etc.), how you would like me to reward good behavior, how you would like me to deal with bad behavior, anything unusual that I should keep an eye on, if your pet has any allergies, what I should do in case of a medical emergency, whether I would need to give your pet any medication, any fears that your pet may have, how long your pet can be left alone, and whether your pet has any quirks that I need to know about. I have spent the most time with Andy, our rat terrier, but I also have experience with Australian Shepherds and Lhasa Apsos in addition to several other breeds.
A typical day
One of the great joys of being a dog owner is that it inspires me to take at least one to two walks with our dog each day. We typically walk around our sweet, little neighborhood where we know many of our neighbors. But I also take Andy to a nearby dog park where he enjoys running around the safe, fenced-in area. I am ready, willing, and able to take your dog for walks around your neighbored and to any and all parks or other locales that you suggest. While Andy is not terribly enthused about playing fetch, I have taken care of other dogs that love to play fetch, and I am happy to oblige.
