Pet care experience

I grew up with dogs and cats, but cats have been my love for as long as I've known they existed. I've cared for horses and goats as well. My experience housesitting started at 17, where I took care of three dogs, three horses, and three goats, for three weeks! Friends have relied on me to take care of their furry family members, and my longest running client has been going for 13 years. Leopold Queso III is the cat in my profile photo. I love seeing how he's changed and how our relationship has deepend over the years! I do adore pugs, shibas, and Aussies.

Carolyn was so wonderful!! She did a perfect job taking care of my two high energy cats and keeping me in the loop so I wouldn't worry. She also went above and beyond by leaving my place absolutely spotless. I'll definitely be rebooking with Carolyn in the future!

Carolyn takes the best care of our cats! They are approaching one year old and are definitely in the “testing the limits” phase. Carolyn totally understands all of the quirkiness that comes with our cats and does an amazing job caring for them. She is so thoughtful, caring, and has a calming presence for our cats while we are away. Highly, highly recommend Carolyn for cat sitting services.

I have been reading up on cat behavior (in an amateur fashion) ever since I got my first very-own cat Bean in 2016. I'm familiar with their body language and am able to care for them in the way that suits them. I will not push your cats to snuggle or play (they are pretty good communicators usually.) If there is anything that triggers your kitties, please let me know! (For example, my cat Bean HATED the laser pointer and would claw holes in the wall thinking that was where it went. So we didn't play with laser pointers anymore.) Your kitties will be fed and exercised to your instructions, but I will allow them to warm up to me in their own time. If they're skittish, I tend to ignore them until they get used to my smell and existence.

Information Carolyn B. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know about any special quirks about your kitties! Will they try to run out of the door any chance they get, or are they scared of it? Indoor, outdoor or both? Where do they sleep at night (if they do) and do you usually sleep with or without them? Door open or closed? Are they standoffish, friendly, cuddly, bitey? Will they cry incessantly if they are fed improperly? Or do they just happily eat whatever you give them? Please list any medications that kitty needs, plus their veterinarian's information so that if anything goes wrong, I can take care of them in your absence. In the extremely unlikely event that I need to take them, how much do they hate the car?

A typical day

Cats enjoy time on their own schedule, don't they? I love to play with kitties if they love toys, and find the feather toy on a stick or snake is the most fun! Giving the kitties a brush each day is important, too, if they're into it. We'll wake up, I'll ensure they're fed, then I take care of myself. If it's a weekend, I'll play with them if they seem frisky, or, if your cat is like Leo, then I will sit in the appointed Petting Chair and pet said kitty until kitty says they're done. I'll read or play sudoku. Maybe go for a walk. Water the garden. Then have a snack and check on the kitties to see how they're doing and if they need anything. Check the litter box to see if it needs scooping. I'm a pretty low-key sitter. :)

I work full time in Madison Valley for a non-profit healthcare organization. I can work from home 3 days a week with advanced notice. My work hours are 7A-3:30P. Generally speaking, it takes about 20-40 minutes with the range I've selected (if on the mainland). A note about weekend bookings: Unless you book me for Friday night as well, Saturday mornings I don't tend to get going until 10 or 11. This doesn't mean that it's not do-able, it just means we need to do a little discussing about what 'done' looks like to you. Let's chat!
