I grew up with three labs. Over the years I took care of neighbors' dogs. However, most of my experience came from volunteering at the Jacksonville Humane Society. I volunteered there for two years walking and doing enrichment for mostly big dogs. I know how to properly handle and care for dogs, especially dogs that many people consider "hard to own". I learned a lot from the vets and permanent employees there, and am grateful for all of the time I spent learning through experience. Dogs are family, and they too deserve to be treated with love and compassion, no matter the breed.
