Keeping up with dogs at any speed
Pet care experience
In addition to walking and sitting for dogs, I regularly volunteer at a no-kill animal shelter, where I walk, feed, and socialize dogs. I completed five weeks of further training there--taught by a professional behaviorist--in canine body language, behavior, and handling. I have experience working with dogs who are stressed, strong, jumpy, mouthy, shy, fearful, or who may be exercise-restricted due to medical concerns. I enjoy establishing a unique connection with each dog, and I am committed to continuing my education and refining my skills. I have regular daytime availability and can flex evening and weekend hours. I am available to walk dogs, drop in for visits, or sit for longer periods. I am also highly active and will gladly take dogs for runs, but if your dog is more of a couch potato, I'll happily accommodate that, too.
Reviews
Moose had a great time again this week with Caroline! I received lots of pictures, updates and some videos of my crazy boy. It's so nice to know he's happy and relaxed at home when I'm traveling for work. I know Moose is looking forward to hanging with Caroline in the future.
I honestly don't think Moose even missed me! Caroline was great. She was extremely flexible on the meet and greet time and it was clear within a few minutes that she was "Moose Approved". She arrived at my place at the time agreed upon and I could tell from the photos she sent the 1st night and the following morning that Moose was completely comfortable and happy at home. She sent pictures and updates daily and checked in with me before leaving on the final day of her stay. When I arrived home I saw that she ran the dishwasher and had stripped the bed. I'm guessing she also picked up some dog toys since toys were not all over the apartment. The first visit went so well she is coming back again next week as I have a last minute business trip.
Caroline is amazing! I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a thorough, responsible, and knowledgeable pet sitter. I am one of those neurotic pet parents and and was anxious about finding the right person to watch them while I was out of the country for a week. Caroline cared for my two cats and my senior dog who needs multiple medications and also has separation anxiety. She gave me updates every day, was extremely attentive and understanding about my pets' needs, and really went above and beyond when caring for them.
Caroline is absolutely top notch. She is caring, prompt and reliable. I have absolute confidence in her, she treated my home and pet the utmost respect.

Information Caroline R. would like to know about your pet
I like to get a sense of the dog's general temperament, schedule, and habits, as well as the magic words (or treats) that he or she prefers. Of course, I'll ask about any allergies, medical conditions, and behavior triggers. I'm pretty small, but I'm comfortable handling all dog-sized dogs (just not horse-sized dogs).
A typical day
It depends on the neighborhood, but we'll stick to quiet, scenic walks until I know how the dog reacts to passersby (human, canine, and automotive). We can explore nearby parks (leashed!) and even venture toward the Lakefront Trail or 606. I'll bring a doggy water bowl so that we can enjoy Chicago's beautiful outdoors without getting dehydrated.
