I joined Rover because I realized how outrageously expensive it can be to have your pets taken care of while trying to plan a small vacation for my husband and myself. We have two beautiful male German Shepards and a gorgeous female Husky. They are our babies and we treat them as such. However, I firmly believe that you should be able to take a vacation without spending as much on animal care as on yourself! I have owned dogs and various pets my whole life. I have experience with dogs, cats, horses, cows, goats, sheep, chickens, pigs, fish, birds, rodents, and reptiles. You name it, I've probably had one as a pet or a 4H project. My dogs are very dog-friendly if yours likes to socialize, but I grew up with a very dog-aggressive German Shepard so I have experience with handling this behavior as well. If you have a high energy pooch who needs to burn off energy, I'm happy to take them for a run or play a long game of fetch. If you have an older dog who would prefer a slow, easy walk or cuddling on the couch, we can do that too.
