Pet care experience

UPDATE: 11/13/2019 Just bought our new home in Milwaukie, OR. Spent the last 9 months living in our RV and moving cross country from FL. Petsat all summer in Santa Cruz, CA. Looking to get established locally here in Milwaukie, OR. Have been a petsitter for years. Joined Dog Vacay when they first launched nationally and transferred over to Rover when they acquired Dog Vacay. The new house is sparsely furnished so far. My PODS with all our belongings will be here by the end of December. But all furniture that I do have right now is pet friendly and dogs are allowed on it and sleep in bed with me if they so choose. I also have dog beds scattered around the house. I keep the finished basement and the carpeted upstairs off limits. We live on the main floor with a kitchen, dining room, living room, master bedroom and full bath. There is a front porch and a full deck to the back yard accessed by sliding glass doors. I do have some pet gates to separate the fur kids if needed. The back yard is fenced so we have places to play off leash. There are lots of parks nearby in walking distance. Located near the Providence - Milwaukie Hospital. I love to go for walks and take photos of the fur kids at ease and at play to text or email back to the humans so they can be connected throughout the day. Many of my FL clients enjoyed this free bonus service. I had many regulars for years while I was there who travelled often for business. We are happiest being a home away from home for those kind of fur kids. Especially seniors and medical special needs dog. Special soft spot for those kind of pups. I have several local families I have done walks and playtime for already during my time as I spent the summer traveling cross country in our RV. Spent June-most of August in Santa Cruz,CA. Have clients who would happily give a review from there. Will happily provide you with local Portland, OR references too. I know a number of lifelong friends who are long time PDX Area residents. Please propose a meet & greet so we can see if things are a fit on both sides before I accept a booking request. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Caroline is a wonderful, responsible, and dog loving caregiver. We had the pleasure of her dog sitting our dog lots and lots of times during the course of 7 years. Our dog always looked forward to seeing Caroline and, in fact, her name was Auntie Caroline to our dog. Caroline was always there to lovingly watch our dog. She loved him and took care of him like he was her own. We needed Caroline's services for many years due to a sick family member, vacations, day trips, help during the day when our dog needed to go out to do his business while we were at work, and she was always there for us. I trust Caroline 100 percent. She is wonderful.

It is all too easy to recommend Ms. Caroline to watch our fur-babies. First and foremost, she has the best interest of the animals in mind at all times during their stay. She will let them be themselves and will keep an eye on them as if they were her own. Simply stated, Ms. Caroline is the best person for watching your precious loved ones. We would drop our two Bichon pups at her home and as we came around the corner of the neighborhood toward her home, the pups would start jumping around and become excited that they were going to see her. They knew where they were going and the were happy and excited to be with her. Ms. Caroline provides hourly updates with pictures so that we feel a part of the situation, although we are not there physically. This is such a comfort, as we can monitor our loved ones the entire time. In fact, our pups worked their way into her bed, just like ours, so this was a HUGE plus. Ms. Caroline LOVES animals and will always do the best for them and their owners during this separation. We NEVER were stressed about letting her watch Emma and Bristol, and that fact alone makes the experience such a positive and reassuring event. Everyone is happy during and at the end of the visit, us as owners and the pups.

Caroline was my Rover when she lived in FL and was like an "auntie" to two of my dogs over that time. The first time I left Gunner I was so nervous! What if he didn't behave? What if he was lonely? Ha! He instantly became part of the pack. Gunner was a big dog, as is Careem, the second of my dogs that stayed with Caroline; each over 100lbs. She handled both without issue; they respected her as the alpha of the pack and most of all, she loved on them a lot! Her house was a second home; I had piece of mind when I left them in her caring and very capable hands. She cried with me when Gunner passed away and celebrated with me some months later when I adopted a new dog. Caroline loves animals and it shows. Love is important and so is the knowledge on how to care for animals; she has great depth of that knowledge as well. I had full trust when I left my "kids" knowing the level love, attention and care that they received from Caroline.

I’ve known Caroline for 16 years and if there ever was someone who is willing to go the extra mile for you, it would be her! She was the first person we met when we moved into our neighborhood and she not only introduced us to new neighbors but also all the pets in the neighborhood. She would frequently stop over for me during the day when our puppy was young to let her out n give her some attention. To this day, our Boo nearly wiggles out of her skin trying to get Caroline’s attention if she sees her on our walks. She truly loves and cares for each animal she comes across.

Information Caroline K. would like to know about your pet

The more I know ahead of my time with your pets, the better we all are prepared for having a great time together. I always like to do a detailed meet and greet beforehand. That way I am able to get a full history, see their environment, hear about their daily routine, their health and any fears, phobias or special accommodations. I always get complete medical info and emergency contact info too.

A typical day

I am open and flexible and adapt my routine to the age, temperament and socialization of the dogs. I love to go for walks and like to change things up by taking them to different places and different routes. For dogs who enjoy parks I like to pick a different one each day. That way it helps stimulate their brains with new sights, smells and experiences. For the more laid back and older pets I am happy to sit on the sofa and give snuggles and belly rubs. If they are happy, I’m happy and then you can be happy and relaxed as well. My other passion beside pets and travel is photography. I tend to be a bit of a shutterbug capturing moments with your dog throughout our time together so i can text or email them to you with our pupdates. This has been wildly popular with my FL clients.
