Pet care experience
Your pup or pups will be happy with me! ME: I'm a recent UW grad, moved to Seattle the years ago after working abroad for several years and being in college at UNC. I live in the Central District and can travel by bus or bike to your house; no car, sorry! My house has a lot of people in it and no pets are allowed, so I would need to watch your dog(s) at your house. I can't wait to dogsit in Seattle. EXPERIENCE: I first began dog sitting in North Carolina and Kansas where I grew up, starting in 2004. I also helped raise a dog for 16.5 years (we were like sisters) and volunteered in college with the Helping Paws animal rescue group and at the Orange County Animal Shelter in Chapel Hill, NC. I took large and small shelter pups out for walks, taught them to sit and stay, gave them love especially if they had been strays, and brought them to the UNC campus to cheer up both dogs and stressed college kids for "Puppies in the Pit" de-stressing events. When I moved back to Wilmington, NC, I went to Paws Place rescue and fostered a beautiful hound dog who couldn't walk on a leash when I met her, and taught her how to walk calmly and partially potty-trained her. She was overweight so I brought her to the dog park to get exercise and she became so muscly and healthy. I got to know her personality and adorable habits, and wrote about her online. She was soon adopted! When I worked abroad in a shantytown in Peru for 2 years, I chatted up the street dogs and gave them my lunch leftovers even though I could not usually safely pet them because they had lots of fleas, parasites, etc. :/ I brought a very sick street dog to the vet once, a pretty challenging task that involved a generous taxi driver and several of my coworkers and the neighbors to catch this pup. In the hot summer, I convinced my coworker to walk around with me through the neighborhood leaving out water for the street dogs. Basically, I really love dogs and I know how to care for them and understand their signals. They cheer me up and make me laugh. I usually say hi to strangers' dogs on the street, as though they could talk to me. :) I'll give your dogs attention, cuddles, exercise, and love!

Caroline is an incredibly compassionate and responsible person and these traits shine through when she is with animals. I've seen Caroline spend her own time and money to care for animals she meets in the street, whether it be buying them food or bringing them to veterinary care. Caroline's love of animals and humans alike make her the perfect person to care for your dog and wonderful to interact with :)
I used to help Caroline dog sit occasionally in North Carolina. She has true intuition when it comes to giving our canine friends the care and attention they need. Every time even a minor issue came up while we were sitting, she seemed to have a clear contingency plan and handled the situation very calmly, always keeping the owners informed along the way. Caroline is the epitome of responsibility when it comes to pets!
Just like me, Caroline is a dog lover. You can easily tell by the joy and passion you feel when she talks about her experience with dogs. For her, they are among her best friends, and for dogs just the other way round. Back in 2013 I worked helping as a volunteer in a local veterinary in Lima, Peru. Suddenly I recieved a call from Caroline who i had just met a few weeks ago. She was asking for help, a stray dog who lived close to her work as a volunteer in San Juan de Lurigancho (a poor district in Lima, with a lot of stray dogs) was a in a very bad shape. A few minutes later Caroline came with the dog making every effort possible to keep the dog alive. It was as if this dog she had met a few weeks ago was a long time member of her family. Every one in the veterinary remembers that day and still asks me for the girl who left such a good impression because of her passion to save him. Since then Caroline and I have been good friends, ever time she visits the most excited ones are my dogs and cats. She spends a lot of quality time with them, she's really happy with them. Although Caroline is back in US, the first person I would think of if i had to leave my dogs with someone, that's definitely Caroline. It's always great to find someone who shares your love for animals and has so many experience and stories to share, volunteering and work on dog shelters. Caroline is someone dogs and families can trust.
Caroline was excellent with my dogs. My Delilah is rather high everything - energy, anxiety, maintenance and Caroline knew just how to keep her active, entertained, and out of trouble. Caroline is calm and "gets" dogs. I have been very impressed with her volunteer work and her willingness to foster. She is trustworthy and honest. I would highly recommend Caroline!!
