Pet care experience
A little over two years ago, my family and I brought home Winston, a black golden doodle who I love like he's my human child! Aside from my mom, I am his primary caretaker, and I've packed in a lot of valuable caretaking experience over the last couple years we've had him. Beyond walking him and snuggling with him, I've trained him, gone to all of his veterinary appointments, successfully fed him medicine, and taken care of him when he's caught the occasional cold. I've also practiced responsiveness, keeping Winston away from trash, unfriendly dogs, and squirrel-chases during walks in our neighborhood. Ultimately, I'm extremely affectionate with Winston and dogs in general!
Reviews
This was our first time using Rover, and we were a bit nervous about leaving our dog with a stranger in a city we were visiting. Caroline eased our worries immediately when Reilley ran right to her at their first meeting. Caroline sent regular text and photo updates that showed how quickly Reilley settled in with her. It was comforting to know that our sweet dog was being taken care of by a sweet young lady.
Caroline has been a loving and attentive dog-mom to her goldendoodle Winston in his first year of life. She enjoys walking Winston all over the neighborhood, letting him take his time to enjoy the walk. She’s always careful to be as gentle with him as possible when he’s on the leash, using techniques other than neck-tugging to keep him focused or away from trash and unfriendly dogs. She has recent experience with taking care of Winston as a young, rambunctious puppy, as well as taking care of him after his neutering surgery. She also has experience taking him to the dog park and observing the dynamics of dogs socializing. She has watched hours of reward-based-only training videos and implemented the training techniques with Winston as a puppy. Winston adores Caroline and is always excited to be with her. Before Winston came into her life, Caroline fostered a beagle mix dog from the SPCA to gain experience in dog care, and later the beagle was adopted. Any dog would be lucky to spend time with Caroline when their owner needs a dog walker or dog caretaker.

Safety, trust & environment
I believe pets deserve and require highly attentive care at all times. I'm always happy to provide frequent bathroom breaks for your pet and generally give your pet lots of company. Your dog's safety and well-being are my top priorities. I understand that letting someone else take care of your dog can be a scary leap of faith! I am always happy to communicate with you as much as you'd like.

Information Caroline H. would like to know about your pet
It's important to me to give your dog an experience that's as similar as possible to being under the care of their owner. To that end, I welcome whatever information you'd like to share with me about your dog so that I can provide them with the best experience possible.
A typical day
I always aim to provide mental and physical stimulation for the dogs I care for. I'm happy to play with dogs using their favorite toys! When possible, I like walking dogs in areas that have sidewalks and an abundance of grass and trees.

Availability
As far as my background and availability, I recently graduated from UVA. I have lots of availability these days, as I am currently in the process of applying to 9-5 jobs. I'd love to incorporate dog-walking and dog-care into my routine!
