Responsibility, positivity, mindfulness, patience, and care is what you will experience when working with me. River swims, new excursions, dirt between the toes, belly rubs, and adoring attention is what your furry friend will expereince. I am currently available for dog running, walking and visits during the mornings or over night stays! Over the past couple of years, I have been dog sitting off and on for my friends long term and short term. Since I'm not ready for a dog of my own, giving my affection and attention to others' dogs is the perfect balance. I absolutely love getting outside, being involved in my community, and going for walks to see the details of my city (instead of the washed out blurs I see when driving). It makes me so happy to share walks with dogs because they are simply enjoying the present moment with me as well. The love and unconditional affection dogs provide, help remind me how easy it is to be happy and kind towards others. In the past year, I have dog sat my friends pit-bull mix two separate times each for about a month while she was traveling to Africa and rock climbing in Tennessee. I would take her pup out on camping trips and hikes, and for sunbathing in the park with plenty of neighborhood exploring (finding a few new coffee shops in Cap Hill). Last summer I dog sat for a few of my friends while they were at their day jobs, going over either to feed and walk or hang out with their dogs for the day. Most recently I stayed overnight to entertain and spoil my co-workers terrier mix. My method for taking care of dogs is to use more body language and less verbal commands to get my mood and intention across. I still catch myself chatting with the pups and treating them like humans while I share my opinions and life thoughts with them :). I find using patience and a calm firm tone with dogs shows them I care but will also being making the final decision, and I have even established some quality walking and bed sleeping manners in the dog that I watched long term. I am currently studying yoga at Kindness and working part time. Some of my favorite activities are yoga, rock climbing, cooking, fitness, arts and crafts, biking and brewery exploration. I look forward to the opportunities to get outside and spend more time with the furry humans I love!
