Pet care experience
I've taken care of 2 red-setters regularly while back in the UK, as well as had my own dog when I was a child. I've also had a cat who was diabetic for 2 years, who was originally feral and had to be gradually domesticated! I'm currently a PhD student at Tulane university, with quite a flexible schedule. I'm looking to do a two or three visits or walks a week with a regular client, or overnights at the weekend. I would want to be able to foster a good relationship with your pooch so that they are comfortable and used to me, so regular visits would be preferable. I will heed any advice and guidance and advice you give me with regards to behavioural or health concerns. I am comfortable with giving animals medication.

Carolina was the perfect match for our sweet girl, Dixiepup. She stayed for 4 days and 3 nights and left our home spotless. Our dog enjoyed Audubon park walks, visits with other neighborhood dog friends, and lots of love from Carolina in-between. She reached out when Dixie was getting a hotspot on her paw from a grass allergy and offered to take her to get it checked - instead she took quick instructions from us for ointment we had in the house and Dixie’s paw was back to normal by the time we arrived home. I highly recommend Caroline for in-home stays with your pet.

I only offer services outside of my own home, because my landlord does not allow pets. If at a client's home, I would take the time initially to say hello to the dog and get them used to me and my smell, perhaps with a treat or two if it was healthy for them to have. I would make sure any food or water is topped up and that they have been to the toilet. I would also bring some toys with me if they like to play, and of course give them cuddles - or space if that's more their style!

Any allergies, necessary medications, behavioural issues are all things you should let me know in advance. I have experience with giving animals regular medicine (daily insulin shots), and with some guidance can hopefully support in the case of other issues.
A typical day
I love Audubon park. Depending on where you're based in the city, I can do park walks or city walks, playing with toys indoors is also good for downtime, and the dogs will get lots of cuddles at the end when they are tired!

Availability
I am a PhD student so my schedule is flexible. Mornings work best for me, as well as weekends. I can take the dog for up to 1.5 hours at a time or stop by at your house to say hello!
