Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Carol and I live in Encinitas. My dog Daisy died of old age a year and a half ago and then my daughter went off to college so....empty nest! I'm not quite ready to get another dog, but I miss their companionship and have been enjoying dog-walking and dog-sitting for friends and family. I have a big securely fenced yard for playing ball and rolling in the grass. I have had many dogs and cats over my lifetime and, although I'm allergic to cats, I am open to stop in visits in homes with dogs and cats for feeding and play, just not able to do overnight stays with cats. I am fit and up for long walks with big dogs if needed. Unfortunately I can't do early morning due to another commitment but am usually available by 9 a.m. I recently completed an online course about pet behavior from the University of Edinburgh called The Truth about Cats and Dogs, and am happy to support you in any training goals you have for your pup. I am not a dog trainer but have enjoyed the training process with my own dogs.

It would be important for me to know if your dog has any special needs or idiosynchrasies. I get along well with all kinds of dogs but it would be good to know about their temperament in advance and if they have any problems getting along with other dogs or people.
A typical day
Depending on your dog's energy level we can take long walks or runs, short walks or slow meanders. I have a large backyard lawn for ball chasing and stick fetching. If your dog likes to socialize with other dogs we can visit a dog park or dog beach.

I am currently working only minimal hours from home so am available after 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and after 9 a.m. all other days.
