Avid and active dog and cat lover!

Pet care experience

I have taken care of pets for many years throughout my life - spanning from watching the neighbor's dog in high school, to training puppies in college, and of recent taking care of senior and special needs pets. I have such a deep love of all pet companions and look forward to treating all pets with love and respect!

We had to leave our pup for 4 days for the first time. Knowing that he was with someone we trusted made our trip even better. Pickles always feels at home with Carol and Oakley, thanks so much again Carol!!

The sweetest most caring sitter ever. I receive updates and pictures all the time! I’ve never had one worry! My Ziggy is so happy when he’s with her. He’s loved and cared for just like at home. I will use Carol as his sitter every time I can!

So sorry so late! This is the 2nd time we have used Carol! And not sure I can ever use her again! My boy loves them too much! Lol. Kind, sweet, and very caring. Excellent sitter. Very grateful to have found her.

Safety, trust & environment

I have a fenced yard and a very dog-friendly neighborhood, complete with a 0.50 mile walking path that I take my own dog on three times per day. My dog is a 9 year old briard named Oakley who is very relaxed and care-free. She has a soft spot with small dogs and is very caring and gentle with them! We call her a "momma dog" as she loves puppies and is perfect for helping teach young dogs about doggy boundaries in play. Because Oakley is an older female dog, she has recently settled into a "dominant" role, and will get corrective and fearful if presented with another large dog who also plays a "dominant" role. If your dog tends to be the pushy/dominant type, I'd recommend my in-home care services or to find a sitter that better fits your pup's needs! Lastly, I am passionate about Oakley's nutrition, so any additional feeding time requests for your pet are respected and valued.

Information Carol K. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know of any behavioral concerns or health concerns of your pet and so I can provide the most necessary care! Selfishly, I prefer to board small dogs or puppies, as those are the dogs who Oakley tends to bond with very well and I love seeing her so happy!

A typical day

A typical day in boarding involves an early morning walk and an hour of relax time before breakfast to best suit their gut health. We go on our second walk around noon and our third and final walk of the day in the early evening. My neighborhood has a walking path that is a half mile loop, so dogs in my care get at least a mile and a half of walk per day. We have three small toy bins around the home so there is plenty of opportunity to play between walks!

Availability

I'm currently a full-time work-from-home mental health therapist, which means I am tied to my computer for 25 client hours throughout the week. Outside of those hours, my schedule is very flexible and leaves me with considerable downtime to give your pets the care they deserve! I am most available to care for pets over the weekends, but will also be open for weekday care to provide either full boarding or day care.
